I wiped the blood from my lip, spitting into the sand. I could hear Cameron screaming my name telling me to come back, but I didn't care. I wanted the hell out of there.
The images popped back into my head, it all happened so quickly, I was blinded.

20 minutes earlier.
I spiked the ball over the net, listening as it made a swoosh sound.
"Score!" My best friend and I chanted.
We did the Bernie, falling into place and laughing.
"Alright Gilinsky, what's the score?" I said sticking my tongue out at the other team.
"12-0" Gilinsky muttered throwing the ball over the net.
Cameron jogged up to me, pecking me on the cheek.
"We're a great team." I winked at him positioning myself on the field.
I felt a ball hit the back of my head making me stumble forward.
"What the hell?" I said turning around gripping the back of my head.
"Sorry." A girl said smirking at me.
"Ignore them Y/N." Chloe said standing next to me.
I agreed deciding to let it go, I knew I wasn't liked by Cameron's fans I've had countless of problems with them. This wasn't anything new.
I went to serve the ball, when I got hit in the back of the head with the ball again.
"what the fuck?!" I screamed.
Not only did I get hit with the ball, but Chloe did too.
The two girls got into our face.
"Is there a problem?" I spoke standing my ground.
I watched from the corner of my eye raise her fist.
"What are you going to do hit me?" I said raising an eyebrow at her.
"Hit me." I said again.
"Come on hit me." I said a little louder.
Gilinsky and Nash came up to Chloe and I pulling us away.
"Y/N let it go." Gilinsky said pulling at my arm.
"Let it go." He said pushing me forward.
It all happened so fast, all I saw was Chloe down onto the sand, and I felt my hair being ripped from my head.
My knees hit the ground as the girls fist collided with my face.
I felt my fist come in contact with part of her face.
I could hear Cameron screaming my name telling me to let go, but my adrenaline was pumping I was pissed and I was tired of not being able to defend myself.
I felt someone pull me off of the girl and drag me across the beach.
"Are you crazy?!"
It was Cameron.
I wiped the blood from my lip.
"That was a fan!" Cameron screamed grabbing my arms.
"And I'm your girlfriend!" I screamed back.
"I'm tired of this Cameron, I'm so tired of being picked on, and a punching bag. It's gone to far." I said wiping at my lip.
I flinched at the pain in my chest, I had a long scratch mark going down my chest.
"You could have walked away!"
"I did walk away! You were right there!"
"What did you expect me not to defend myself? She snuck up on me Cameron! You saw it, everyone saw it!" I screamed, Cam's grip on my arms got tighter, his face got redder.
"Cameron let me go, you're hurting me."
"You're pathetic Y/N."
"I'm pathetic?" I said laughing.
"This relationship is pathetic!"
"You're not the girl I fell in love with."
"Maybe I'm not the one who changed Cameron, maybe you are."
Cameron let go of me, and I walked away. I could hear him calling my name but I didn't care, I kept walking rubbing my arms as I made my way back towards the hotel.
I've never seen Cameron so angry before especially at me.
His words cut deep, making my chest hurt. I wiped away the tears as I slid the key card into the door.
I flinched at the hot water going against my wounds.
I heard the door of the room open, not ready to face Cameron.
"Y/N?" Cameron said closing the door.
I opened the bathroom door letting the steam exit.
"Y/N." Cameron said walking towards me.
I ignored him walking towards the bed.
"Y/n, I'm sorry." Cameron said walking behind me.
"Are you?" I finally spoke.
"I'm not mad at you Y/N, I'm more mad at myself because I couldn't protect you. I can't protect you." Cameron said sitting down next to me on the bed.
"I don't need you to protect me Cameron. I just need to know you won't give up on us when things go wrong."
"You gave up on us today." I said quietly looking down at the ground.
"It scared me." Cameron said reaching for my hand.
"It scared me so bad, I didn't know what to do." Cameron said wrapping his fingers around mine.
"What if you got hurt Y/N?"
"I'm fine Cameron."
"That's not the point." Cameron said shaking his head.
"I was defending myself Cameron."
"They hit Chloe and I first." You saw it.
"I didn't just walk up to them and decide to hit them."
"Cameron, are we crazy?"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, is this even worth it?" I said motioning between us.
"Y/N, I love you. You're worth it."
"You mean so much to me, I love you so much. If you want to walk out right now, I'll let you. But know I'll come chasing after you every single time." Cameron said bringing my hand up to his mouth.
"But this is me, begging you not to walk out of my life, but fall into my arms instead." Cameron said pulling me into his arms.
I let myself fall, I inhaled his scent trying to wrap my mind around everything.
"I'm really sorry Cameron."
"I'm sorry too."
"We'll get through this, we always do." Cameron said kissing the top of my head.
We always do.
