The Misadventures of Nathan!

Chapter 1. Nate's P.O.V.

It wasn't always like this, he wasn't always accepted, he wasn't always considered a 'badass' or a 'boy' or anything like that. He was originally born in the wrong body, as a little boy he would never wear dresses or respond to Athena, He wouldn't respond to female pronouns, his parents were concerned and ended up taking him to the doctors at the age of 3, he was almost immediately diagnosed as a transgender boy, at first the doctors didn't give him anything----they simply had the parents change things socially---his name, pronouns, clothes----they basically let him become himself and he was a ton happier, as he grew older, he started noticing puberty and it freaked him out really bad, what if people know he wasn't put right? He talked to his parents about it, they discussed estrogen blockers but didn't have the money yet,puberty hadn't quite him him yet, so he was still safe but he was really afraid that they wouldn't be able to afford it, he thought that he was doomed to stay trapped, he was deep in his pain and misery when he first met Eden, born Edith, they had met at a park and eden was going through the same thing,but he hadn't developed as much as Nathan, and Eden's dad had told Eden they would think about estrogen blockers, Eden managed to find a book that his parents forgot about that had a ton of money in it, just the right amount to buy enough estrogen blockers to help him out til his parent's could afford it, Nate never forgot Eden's kind gesture, and did everything to ensure his happiness, after it seemed that Nate transitioned socially successfully his parent's managed to change his name to Nathan, eventually no one knew he was born a female, and over time, even Eden forgot,but it wasn't always that easy, Nate was often kicked, punched, and bullied to the point of wanting to die before the name change and marker change went through, his sister had abandoned him and left to live with her boyfriend because she couldn't handle being around her 'dead sister', she told him she never wanted a 'faggot brother' for a sibling and that he was nothing more than a complete and utter disgrace to the family and that the only reason his parents did anything was because they thought he would committ suicide and they couldn't afford a funeral for that to happen. She had told him that he put their parents through hell and how they struggle financial because of all the burden placed upon them from having to pay for everything that Nathan had gotten to feel like himself, after being told all of this from his sister, he had attempted to kill himself only to end up in the hospital. His sister had shown up at the hospital only to tell him that he couldn't even die properly and that it's probably because he is such a burden to everyone that even hell didn't want him. 

He felt so low. He wanted to die so badly, he was going to break down and cry, he heard someone about to walk in and immediately thought of his sister and how he had disappointed her and the family by staying alive, but surprisingly it wasn't his cold sister who came through the door, it was Eden, he should have known, Eden had always been there for him.

''Hey man...I wanted to make sure you were okay man, you know I'm always here for you, you are my best friend'' 

I know Eden, and you are mine too, I can't wait to get out of here so we can hang out, maybe now my parents will actually ----he forgot that Eden didn't know him as anything other than Nathan anymore---maybe now I my parent's will see how important it is to live their lives without worry about me. He wasn't ready to tell him the truth. After that his parent's worried about him attempting that again and got his name and marker changed legally to avoid bullying and any possible suicide attempts. His life seemed to drastically improve, but he had to move away from Eden for awhile because although is sister moved away from him, she still went to his school, and seeing her caused alot of pain and painful flashbacks, their was too much trauma between them. He cried as he left that school, left his best friend Eden behind, now in high school, he was on T now and finally looking like the man he should have been born as and just as he was looking around for Eden his old friend Dean had come up to him freaking out 

''Yo dean! Calm down man! Why are you in a hurry when we have 4 mins to go to our next class??''  '' sorry man, I just have alot on my mind, something is wrong with Eden, I found her bleeding and crying and when I asked what happened all she did was laugh and I'm getting really worried about her''  ''wait..her?'' it just dawned on me that he hadn't told him that he was in the wrong body.  

''....yeah her, why did you say that in a wierd tone?''  It wasn't my truth to tell. ''Oh, they didn't tell you yet huh? Sorry dude, you are just going to have to wait until they tell you cause I can't tell you;it has to be Eden, anyways, I've gotta go man, see you later'' 

''alrighty then, bye'' 

and with that Dean left looking utterly confused, Nathan could see that Eden hadn't told Dean yet, I know this was hard for him, but he has to tell him sooner or later...well I guess I could always talk to him during my next class, damn, i hope he's okay...

AUTHORS NOTE:Due to the fact that the original book treats Nathan like he is a normal guy, I had to give him a backstory to explain how he got this far that fast, also I know 'The Misadventures of Eden'  Eden gets misgendered by not only Dean but Nathan as well when Nathan is confused on why Dean called him a 'her'. I cannot bring myself to misgender any characters so it has been replaced with 'they' 

I also believe all 'badboys' go through hell, and all my characters write themselves---I had no idea that Eden helped him out that much or that he had such a crush on him since they met, this is all as new to me as it is to you. 

This story is HIGHLY inspired by evan_eliot and his book 'The Misadventures of Eden' 

anyways, I can't update more til tomorrow, but just know that I wish I could! =]
