Turning Mika back into a human had been a long and at times, depressing and stressing process. But finally it was done.

The first months had Mika weak and unable to handle solid food. So he sustained himself by drinking various liquids. It also made Mika feel too much. Seeing as he had started to loose his emotions as a vampire, but as human they came back in a giant wave he wasn't able to deflect.

Causing him to become attached to Yuu's friends, against his will. Of course, it took time and he was still wary from time to time. But he now craved human interaction. Unable to push away his, once buried, loving and friendly nature.

It was all fun and games until Shinoa joked he was like a pregnant mother. With an uncontrollable ocean of hormones.

He wasn't exactly happy. It wasn't that he was bothered about being called a pregnant mother. No. What bothered him was being unable to control his emotions. They were his. So where was the control?

That's what bothered him.

The whole process was chaotic at various times, and Yuu had to learn many things. The most important thing he learned was that Mika's self-loathing didn't disappear. If anything it increased whenever he couldn't perform like an average human.

Yuu was Mika's support. And he was willing. So whenever he was like that he had to entice him out of it. Sometimes he did so faster, and other times were excruciating slow. But he survived a war. So he'd survived this.

At the moment Mika's body could handle solid food now. He had also taken a little interest in cooking. Something he learned because he had wanted to remove the extra chore off Yuu's shoulders, now intrigued him.

He was always extremely happy whenever he succeeded, even more so when he liked the dish himself.

So that's what he was doing. He was silently mumbling to himself as he stood in the kitchen, wearing a light green colored apron. Hand on his chin and he squinted at the recipe in his other hand.

Yuu was doing the laundry, much to his dismay. He had, obviously, put up a fight when Mika requested him to do so. But in the end he realized it was better to avoid conflict with his pretty blond and did as told.

It was at times like this. When Mika was focused on things he took an interest in, and Yuu and stopped to look and admire. That he really noticed how much younger Mika looked, and how much older he looked. While they both were only twenty-two, Yuu looked the part, while Mika looked eighteen.

That's how he always found himself leaving whatever it is he was doing and walking to Mika. In a trance. He always ended up sauntering over to Mika to hug him. Usually from behind, as Mika was busy directing his attention to whatever he fancied.

And like always, he startled the short blond, who was disappointed when he ended up not growing much. He hugged him by the waist and pulled him close. Making the blond turn his head and look up at him curiously. Even though he already knew what had set Yuu off.

"Yuu-chan?" He softly called, "Are you ok?"

All he received was Yuu shoving his face to the back of his neck. Disturbing the blond locks that cascaded and curled up.

Yuu would have found amusement in the fact that Mika was still sensitive to his touch after all these years, but when he was in this mood. He found no amusement.

Instead he ignored he shiver he caused and mumble, "I'm sorry I took so long."

Mika frowned. Reassuringly holding the hands that held him close. He closed his eyes as he said, voice clear and comforting, "Its okay, Yuu-chan. Better late than never, right?"
