"Now class, the Pythagorean theorem was created by, blah blah blah blah blah. Blah blah blah." The teacher droned on. Gwen mentally adding the blahs for comedic effect. Math was the least fun thing in her exceptionally fun life, but that in turn was expected for someone who dressed up in tights and swung around New York fighting pretty much anything "bad".

Her head fell sideways into her palm and she sighed deeply. Eyes drooping a little as sleep threatened to take over. Her mind fogging with dreams of the day variety. Imagining herself in the mode hopeless romantic way, being that she was a hopeless romantic and couldn't help these types of dreams. A big house, white picket fence, all evil dealt with and villains alike emprisoned or reformed. The highlife, the end of her journey.

Gwen sitting on the porch, beautiful in an older way. Smiling as kids played freely in the lawn. Her hand held by some mysterious dream hunk she'd never met in her life. Sure he varied, last time this dream came up it was Steven Amell holding her hand. Then it was her latest conquest Jack Flanigan, who turned out like every other guy she'd met that wasn't related or older... a pig. Too touchy for her tastes, now too broken in the nose for anyone else's. Serves him right in her eyes.
But back to the dream. Across the street was none other than her childhood home.

I know what your thinking, "aww so chute and silly, her childhood home is gone right?" Correct. Her smile dropped, the man who held her hand burst into flame and poofed away. The children of moments ago gone without a trace. And her home across the way in flames. In the lawn stood a being of red mass, cackling with genuine joy at the monumental occasion. Her dream snapping to reality as a rock tapped the window next to her head.

She sat with a jolt. The teacher was writing on the board about something she didn't care about enough to focus on. Her head jerked sideways and spotted the interrupter. Eyes widening when she saw a girl in a pink dress, odd huh? Well what made Gwen so keen on staring was the addition of cat ears, a tail of the matching species, and long blonde locks. All wrapped up with an adorable pleading smile from the bushes.

Gwen suppressed a groan and held up her hand with a leg wobble. "Sorry! Mr Pretch I really, REALLY, need to use the bathroom." She called interrupting him, only way she'd get away with it is so he can have an excuse to be mad at a student. In Gwen's oppinion it was a blessing that he was odd enough to always say yes when she asked for something. Probably a weird old man crush or whatever, not her problem. He waved a hand to say 'go ahead'.

She stood up and quick walked her way out the door. Rubbing her face as she remembered the last time she had Zetta show up like this, with that same smile. Boyfriend issues.

Shawn Stark, son of the extraordinary Iron-Man, and very active recluse. Zetta probably felt a little lonely again due to her boyfriend's natural tendency to disappear in his lab and ignore her for hours on end until he solved why he went in. Gwen was having a terrible day the last time she came by and nearly threw Shawn out his own window, luckily it didn't happen... this time he might not get so lucky.

She marched outside and took a right turn. The only part of the building with no cameras and no windows, thankfully since she couldn't be seen outside of costume with her avenger buddies. Like Zetta.

"Hey babes." Gwen whistled around the other corner, bustling bushes told her Zetta had heard. Just an affectionate nickname was all it took for them to recognize each other. That and how quickly Zetta went from looking a little on the short side, to 'I shouldn't have picked this fight'

However small Gwen was, she had an inch or two on Zetta. Which Gwen was glad for of course, but what Zetta lacked in size... she made up for in hugging strength. The moment Zetta wrapped her arms around Gwen and squeezed, was the same moment Gwen groaned and lost the breath in her lungs. "Missed you... too." She coughed out.
