The New Girl In Town (Percabeth)

If you haven't figured it out yet, these are just a bunch of one-shot series that aren't really related to another or necessarily in order. What is related though, is a bunch of random people meeting Percabeth, mortal or non-mortal. I love reading these even though they're so cliché, so I think it's about time I made my own.

Disclaimer: It will be mine one day, but I'm pretty sure that's what every other PJO fans says so whatever.

Shelly Perkins POV

Today was the first day at a my new school, Goode High. Weird name, huh? I used to live in Toronto, Canada, but my dad got job here. I can't say I wasn't excited when I first heard the news, but I was upset because I would have to leave all of my friends. I loved to shop though and this was one of the best places in the world for it. Obviously, school supplies didn't count, but I still had to do it anyways. I was walking towards the office to get my schedule when someone ran into me. I was wearing my bag so it didn't hurt that much when I fell on my butt. I was already running late though, so I was kind of mad. When I looked up, I was ready to yell at whoever did it when the guy started apologizing. He put his hand out to help me up, still apologizing.

"I am so sorry! Did I hurt you? What's your name?" He was talking really fast.

"It's okay, I'm fine, you just surprised me there. My name is Shelly."

He looked like he was trying not to smile. "Cool name. I'm Percy."

"Percy, huh? Nice to meet you, but if you don't mind, I kind of need to get my schedule."

"Oh! Okay, sorry for blocking you! Go ahead," he said smiling sheepishly.

"No prob'. Thanks." I went around him and started to walk towards the office again. 

"Wait!" Percy called out. "You're new right? Why don't you come sit with me and my friends at lunch? I'd hate to be alone."

I was smiling. Sitting with a cute guy and his friends? Why not? 

"Yeah, sure! That'd be great!" Percy walked away to his locker to get his stuff. I, once again, started to walk towards the office again and went in, waiting for my schedule.

...

At lunch, I spotted Percy at a table filled with people. Percy must be pretty popular, I thought. I had just met the guy, but I knew I wanted to be friends with him. He seemed nice.

"Hey Shelly."

I saw Percy waving to me as his friends were smirked and nudged him. I sat down in front of him and introduced myself. Percy introduced his friends.

"Shelly, meet Ryan, Matt, Timothy, Evelyn, Leo (no not Leo Valdez), Jake, Arianna, Kayla and Simon." I smiled at them and pulled a sandwich out of my bag.

"Nice to meet you," I said. One of the boys spoke up.

"So is she your future girlfriend or something Jackson?" I looked at Percy, curious as to what he might say. To my surprise, he laughed. He was laughing so hard the table was shaking and half of the people in the cafeteria were looking at him.

When he finally calmed down, he said, "Sorry to burst your bubble Simon, but I already have a girlfriend."

The whole table was silent. I wasn't really surprised, he was good-looking, but I couldn't say that I wasn't a bit disappointed.  Kayla however, looked like she was going to cry. She stood up and ran to the bathroom with the rest of the guys and girls looking at her running figure sympathetically.
