Melody has a crush on Rick, but she doesn't have the courage to tell him, even though another flirtatious girl tries to steal his attention. Rick ends up alone in a room with Melody, resolving the conflict. (OFC/smut/fluff)
--I saw the way she looked at him, with those big brown eyes and her pouty, plump lips. She'd always push her arms together and expose her cleavage, and twirl a blonde strand of hair between her fingers.
Whenever he'd make a joke, a high-pitched giggle would erupt out of her mouth, she'd look up at him through her lashes, and feed off of his glances, and it drove me mad.
I didn't realize how many insecurities I had until this girl, Delaney, joined the group. She always insisted on going on runs with Rick, who never protested.
Maybe he liked her, too. . .
I shook my head and tried to focus on the task at hand.
We were currently standing in the middle of an abandoned shopping center, sweat covering our skin along with dirt and blood. It was starting to cool down, as it was getting late, and we were about to head back to Alexandria. We wanted to head back before sundown. We, as in Rick, Delaney, and Daryl.
Why we took four people on a run, I don't know. All I knew was Delaney was making a big deal about wanting to go, so Rick agreed.
Rick stretched his arms out, letting out a short yawn as I watched him, his beautifully sculpted face, his brown, wavy hair. His face was cleanly shaven, making my eyes focus on those sexy lips of his.
I bit my lip and looked at my shoes nervously. Man, he was cute.
"Let's go," Rick spoke, heading to the car with his leader-like strut, Delaney following quickly behind him.
"He won't know until you tell him," Daryl piped up, causing me to whip my head around to look at him in shock.
"W-what?"
"You heard me," he answered, he gave me a knowing look before he started walking to the car, too, taking a seat in the back, as Delaney already claimed the passenger seat. I rolled my eyes at her incessant need to cling onto Rick, and quickly jogged over to the car, getting in the backseat next to Daryl, putting my seatbelt on.
"That was a successful run," Delaney piped up. "I think we got everything that was requested."
"Well," I chimed in. "We couldn't get the Rosuvastatin that Denise asked for."
"Well, besides that," Delaney responded quickly, almost rudely.
"Good memory, Melody," Rick chimed in. "Next time we can check the Pharmacy down a block farther."
"When it ain't almost sundown," Daryl spoke.
"You know I'm always up for a run," Delaney spoke, gently placing her hand on Rick's shoulder.
My heart sank, I turned my head and looked out of the window the entire car ride home, watching the trees pass, and an occasional walker until I drifted off.
--
"Melody," a voice spoke, I felt a hand gently shake my arm. I jolted in my seat, rubbing my eyes as I turned to see who had shaken me awake. Daryl was looking at me with a smirk. "Wake up, Princess. We're back."
"God, Mel, snore much?" Delaney snorted from the front seat. I stretched my legs and kicked her seat 'accidentally,' causing her to lurch forward.
"Oops," I spoke sarcastically before she shot me a mean glance. I smirked and stepped out of the car. We started to lug our finds into town, giving the requested items to the correct people and having a short conversation with them before retiring to our homes.
