Chapter 5

       Today is the day........ the day I finally am 17. I am currently laying in my bed just staring at the ceiling. You are probably wondering why?... or not, but I'm going to say why anyway. Don't you hate it when you set your alarm for 6:00 or whatever time but end up waking up like 2 or 5 minutes before, well that's what i'm dealing with right now.

        I was savoring the last few minutes before I had to get up for school. I sit up and roll out of bed. I quickly jump in the shower and washed up. I get out and wrap myself in a towel. Since today is my birthday I decided to dress up. I put on my favorite light blue sun dress and some white wedges. I decided to wear a little eye shadow and some eyeliner on the top of my eyelid.

       I blow dried my hair then curled it and let it hang loose down to my waist. I got my phone and backpack and headed downstairs. Right when I got in the kitchen I was enlightened with the smell of all my favorite breakfast foods. I looked at my mom, " wow mom is this all for me?''. " Don't be silly it's also for me and your father".

         " What about Blake?", " Oh Blake went to get something and he will meet you at school". My dad comes strolling in with the biggest smile. My parents were exceptionally happy today. " Oh yeah HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!", my parents say all at once. " Thanks guys you're the best.", I say while hugging them. I sit down at the table and begin to eat my food.

         When I was done a car honked outside 3 times which is signaling that Layla is here. I quickly kiss mom and dad goodbye and run out the door, well as quickly as I can while wearing wedges.  "Happy birthday Kennedy!!!", " hahaha thanks Layla", I say while jumping into the car. " So are you excited to find your mate?", Layla says as she pulls out my driveway. I smile," I guess".

       We pull up to school and I get out. I get a lot of happy birthdays here and there but then all of a sudden I get this mouth-watering scent that smells like the outdoors and a slight hint of vanilla. My body is urging me to follow so I did. When I realized where I was going I was heading towards my brother's locker and there he was standing in all his glory getting his books out.

      He must have noticed my scent or something cause he was sniffing the air and then turned around to face me. He was staring deep into my eyes and I couldn't help but stare back. My brother was my mate holy crap, holy crap, holy crap. He started to walk towards me, my body was telling me to go to him as well but my mind was telling me I have to go this can't be real my brother can't be my mate. So all I did was stand there like an idiot never removing my eyes from his gaze.

         "Happy Birthday Kennedy", Blake says as he hugs me. His voice has never sounded so angelic and it sent shivers down my spine, in a good way though. I shook it off, "Th-thanks". He smirks,"Is something wrong Kennedy am I making you uncomfortable?". " N-no but uhh Blake I need to talk to you in private", I say trying not to just jump into his arms.

       "No problemo", he says as he drags me into an empty classroom. He walks right behind me and closes the door. "Blake how the heck are you my m-mate?", I say with the courage that I have left, which isn't very much.  "Kennedy i've waited for this moment since last year." "What do you mean?" I ask while looking on the floor avoiding his eyes.

         "I mean that I have known that you were my mate since I shifted but I didn't tell you, and now you finally know", he states as he comes closer and closer until we are so close I can feel his breathe on my cheek. "U-umm Blake what are you doing?", I say as he looks at my lips and I gaze at his blue-green eyes. "Something I have waited way TOO long to do", He says emphasizing the to.

          I was about to say something back but then his lips crashed on to mine and a million sparks flew throughout my body. Immediately I wrap my hands around his neck and he moves his hands to my waist pulling me unbelievably closer as if there was any more space left between us. My body was loving the feeling of being with him but my brain was going on over drive.

        What the heck are you doing he is your brother? Why aren't you stopping this is wrong? I did what anyone who was in my situation would do... I pulled away from him, running towards the door and before I could fully make it out the door I took a quick glance at him, but regretted it instantly. I saw shock, lust, love, but most of all hurt.

      I quickly turned around and ran toward the door out of school and ran home, thank the moon goddess that our house was only 10 minutes away. I ran toward the door, hopped up the stairs, and jumped face first onto my bed. Just thinking of the face he made, made me cry. I probably sounded like a dying whale but I didn't care, did i do something wrong why did the moon goddess pair me with my brother. I was a good child I never talked back, I always did what I was told. why why why did this have to happen to me?

         I stayed in my room for the rest of the evening sobbing into my pillow, suddenly I hear a light knock on my door, "come in". I see my mom by the doorway, she looked suprised to see me like this but then let it go like she knew what was wrong. I was gonna ask something but got interupted, "Honey it's 11:40  almost time for your shift we have to go to the woods now".

        What is up with everybody interrupting me,I look up surprised because I didn't think I was in my room for this long, I guess when you're to busy crying you loose track of time. I get up brush of my clothes and wipe my eyes. I head downstairs and me and my mom head to the middle of the forest. Conveniently, the forest was my back yard. When we get there I notice Blake and dad are already there waiting. I avoid looking at Blake by looking at the ground. " What time is it?", I ask still staring at the ground. Dad checks his watch and says "11:59".......

       Hey hope u guys enjoyed this chapter, more to come in the next one. This was definetly one of my long chapters. I was gonna update yesterday but when i was done writing the first paragraph it was 10:50 pm so i saved it and finished it today. I am so happy to have more than 10 votes on my book and i did not expect these many people to read it almost 260 people. In my mind that's a lot. Thanks for reading :)
