New Home New Start

"Ugh, I finally moved out of that crappy apartment-" I couldn't believe I actually lived long enough to get out of that place; I never want to have a roommate again. With all the crap that happened as a kid I was surprised I even made it past 15 when I got into sophomore year and suffered a living hell. But would you look at that, now I'm 21 and have enough money I can move somewhere nice and alone. The houses here are really nice, but the street names pretty cheesy.

Lover's Lane. Kinda weird for a street name but at least it looks like a nice neighborhood. My new house was (f/c) and (s/f/c), two floors and a basement where I'd probably cram storage or things I don't want to unpack. Speaking of, I was unpacking my stuff into my new place from the moving truck when I heard people talking. A lot of people- it sounded like about 20 different people. Why? I have no idea- big neighborhood I guess but now-

"Hi!" a cheery and slightly high pitched voice said, "I'm Aphmau and these are my friends. We're your neighbors!" They all waved. I did the same, "hi..?" "I just want to unpack and get inside my house woman, what do you want from me-" Her name was unique though and sounded vaguely familiar. A taller guy than approached me black hair, black eyes, and a red sweater, but was shirtless underneath for some reason?? You do you I guess dude. "I'm Aaron. That's Garroth, Vylad, Travis, Laurence, Katelyn, Lucinda, Dante, Kawaii-Chan," He points to the people behind him, already a lot and he's not even done yet- "Then, there's Gene, Sasha, Zenix, and Zane." Those last names gave me chills as I looked over to the four. Do they recognize me-? It has been some years but still- why them? Why didn't he have to live here if all people. Irene why did you fuck me over like this-

"Helloooo? Are you okay? Youre kinda spacing out-" Aphmau said seeing me grow a little pale. "Uh yeah- just went somewhere else for second, like I'll do now- thanks for coming by, I'm gonna leave now- bye" I grabbed the last boxes i had, all small thankfully since I moved the big stuff in first and went inside. I closed the door behind me and locked it. I had to control my breathing as I peaked back out through the looking spot in the door to everyone. I could hear them through my door questioning their options on me, fantastic, but it's my own fault for leaving the conversation as soon as I could. If they want to know why I wanted to leave so quickly why don't they try asking Gene, Sasha, Zenix, and Zane-

Eventually, they all walked away and went to their own homes so I was able to put my things away in peace. I've barely been moved in a day and I've already unpacked half of my stuff, - a bonus to today - met some new people, - they seemed nice at least - and cried. I panicked alright- It's been years since Ive seen them and in hopes to never see them again, they just brought up some bad memories. I just hope I don't have to seek them very often anymore.

To relax with what I had at home for now, ramen and watching tv was my go to till I eventually fell asleep on the couch from exhaustion. I have priorities- couch and tv first always.

The Next Day

Ugh. What a day I had yesterday- I should probably finish unpacking so it doesn't take forever. All my boxes were inside and since I didn't have much it didn't take a lot to unload the truck yesterday. I'd just have to try and not procrastinate everything today. I can at least unpack things for the kitchen.

Getting boxes labeled "kitchen" I started putting dishes and silverware away when my phone buzzed. "'Breadstick obsessed-?' Why can't I remember who this is supposed to be-"

A: Hi!
Y: Who is this again-? I haven't seen a message from you for a few years, so my fault if my memory isn't working-
A: Oh! it's Aphmau! Your neighbor! :P
Y: wait- why do you have my number-?
A: I knew you looked familiar so I tried my contact, "(F/A) Obsessed" to see if I was right-
(Favorite animal^)
Y: Holy shit- APH? I feel like an idiot for not recognizing you- who else could be named Aphmau geez-
Y: forgive me-? I'll get you breadsticks-
A: i only forgive you if you hold up your end and get me breadsticks >:O
Y: I am a woman of my word
Y: I can't believe we didn't see it sooner wow- how've you been-?
A: good! How about you come over instead of text so we can reconnect?
Y: Sure, but which house is yours-
A: The red one across the street from you and two houses down to your right uwu
Y: Awesome, I'll be over in five
A: See ya!
"I can't believe it's actually Aphmau- it's been forever since we've seen each other. While she went off to college, I was don't online college courses in that crap apartment before so I didn't have to go outside-" 

Aphmau was my only friend back in high school. We met during art class sophomore year and were close friends till senior year and we went out separate ways. I never told her about how I got bullied since she was too sweet and I didn't want her to worry, so she just thought I was a big klutz. Which isn't a complete lie- anyways, it's awesome I get to see her and talk without running away.

I grabbed my phone and put it in my back pocket, charged and ready to go, skipped on some sneakers and start to walk over to Aph's place. Yup, red house two to the right and across the street. But when I ring the doorbell that guy Aaron from before opened the door. "Did I get the wrong house- I'm sorry, I'll go-" I said, ready to turn around and try again, but he interrupted my leave. "You've got the right house, you're fine- it's (Y/N), right?" He asked, getting my head to nod in response. "Aph and I live together and said you'd be coming over, she's up stairs in the first room on your left." He explained, letting me in and I felt a bit of relief that I did get the right house- "Thanks."

I walked inside and headed upstairs like he told me and into a room to see Aphnau playing with a cat and a dog. "Aww cute. What are their names?" I asked, seeing her pets. I wonder how long she's had them for. "The cat's Eli and this puppy here," Aph said holding up the husky, " is Celstia." I smiled and let Celestia and sat on the floor with her. "so, how've you been?" I asked, "I haven't seen you since senior year- I see you and Aaron worked out." I said, giving her small nudges and to get a small rosy cheeked reaction from her. "It's been too long, but I had Aaron to keep me company," she laughed, "and I've been good, how about you?" She asked in return, "any one special yet~?" She teased and I rolled my eyes in response, "haha very funny, I didn't date in high school and I haven't to this day- sounds sad, but I still don't get the hype of it all." I told her.

Before Aphmau could lecture me that there was someone out there she heard the doorbell ring. "I'll get it!" She yelled just like a child or how she was back in high school. "You're so childish-" I laughed, following her out of curiosity, but staying by the stairs.

I looked to the doorway and my smile faded seeing that devilishly pale blue eye looking back at me once noticing I was there.

"(Y/N)?"

God I'm already enjoying this newer version so much better😂 it's less chaotic and not so jumpy from place to place. I hope you're all enjoying it the same and I can't wait to see you all in the next chapter!
