!Coming Back! Zane X Reader MyStreet What Did I Do To Deserve This?

"God it's been years since I've seen them- they were the cause of why Zane decided to bully me in the first place so maybe I should've blamed them more.. have they changed too? Can Aph vouch for them too- maybe I should just head back home just to be sa-"

"You ready?" Zane said stopping my thoughts, getting my head nodding in response. "I don't like much still now, but they're not the worst people anymore." Zane mentioned as he rang the doorbell and waited for an answer. It didn't take too long for the door to open and reveal a tired looking Gene. "What do you want, Zane?" He asked in a bit of morning tone grumble. He must've been sleeping in or something. "It's not about what I want, but we have a new neighbor I've been showing around properly." Zane said, stepping to the side slightly to show me who was trying to ditch the idea and leave. Dealing with Zane with Aph there was fine, but gene, Zenix and Sasha all at the same time without as much emotional support as before-

"(Y/N)?!" He looks more awake now from the shock of seeing me. I'm utterly shocking to look at in the mirror, I understand dude. He opened the door a bit more for the two of us to come in, running the back of his neck a bit as we went in. Zane didn't seem to enjoy this anymore than gene or me. We were all uncomfortable. "Can I go home now-?" He lets us take a seat on his couch as we all sit awkwardly looking at each other and the carpet. "Uhhh... You umm want anything? Tea?Coffee?" Gene asked, trying to break the silence. Yeah, I didn't expect much of an apology from him anyways. It doesn't effect me as much though fortunately and unfortunately since things were still awkward nonetheless from how things were then before he and the others graduated, but not as nerve wracking as it could be?? "Oh uhm, no thank you" I said as I messed about with my shirt a little. Zane just seemed bored and uncomfortable, but it was hard to tell with how little of his face showed.

"Hey Gene!" Zenix called from the stairs, Sasha following behind. "Who else is here-?" They both looked over at the couch to see Zane and I sitting opposite of Gene awkwardly sitting there in silence like some sort of therapy session no one wanted to say anything during. They were more of Gene's lap dogs to say the least when it came to the things in high school. They never acted against me without Gene's say so, but it was still strange to see them again. "Ugh I can already see how painfully awkward this is." Zenix said as he and Sasha joined us in the living room and got gene up on his feet. "What do we say?" She asked rhetorically, even though it was for all of them to say. "Sorry.." Gene mumbled it as the two were a bit more clear. "For what?" Zane presses to get something more from Gene. He didn't seem to like him as much as he used to when he admired him so back in school. It made gene groan though, but he sighed and looked at me. "I'm sorry we all put you through hell. It's my fault any of that shit started and it shouldn't have taken 7 years to apologize." He said and a while after that everyone seemed to relax a bit. I accepted their apology, more or less. I still don't trust them, but with my reasons it was expected.

Not wanting to over do our stay, Zane excused the two of us. We said our goodbyes for the time being and left. I felt some relief leaving, getting my eyes opened to new people and old ones being given new opportunities was really weird. Hopefully Aph would help me out with just everything that's going on. It's all strange, as simple as I can put it. Zane did offer to walk me home since we spent all day out, meaning it was getting dark, and he didn't have far too walk to get home after anyways. I accepted and we went back, having a light chat about everyone here and there. He mostly just explained them a bit more from observation and what Aph tells him.

It wasn't long till we got back to my house and I unlocked my door to get inside. "Thanks for showing me around today. And so far so good, you're really not as bad as you used to be." I said, cracking a small smile and I think he smiled back?? Can't tell with the mask. "Yeah, no problem, and thank you." I headed inside and saw him walk away to his house and make it inside. If he was willing to walk me home I might as well make sure he gets home okay too.

I grab some more cereal so I could have some late night breakfast and spent the rest of my time on my phone till I eventually headed to sleep.

Time skip to next day~

I woke up to the sound of phone buzzing besides me, realizing I fell asleep on the couch by accident. I saw that Aph was calling me and thankfully my phone still had battery.
(Y= you, A= Aph)
Y- Hey Aph... What's up?
God I sound gross and tired-
A- Not much, I was just wondering if you'd want to come over to my house later tonight?
Y- Sure thing, but what's the catch-
A- whaaaaat-? I can't just want to hang out with you?
Y- Aphmau spit it out.
A- fine- I'm having some friends over tomorrow for a sleepover and I wanted you to be there. It'll be good to help you known them better!!
Y- I guess so, how many people are going to be there?
A- everyone Zane introduced you to yesterday-
Y- Irene Aph that's a lot at once-
A- I know I know, but pleeeeease will you still come?? I want them to get to know you too.
Y- hnnnnnnnnuuuuuuggghhhhh fine-
A- aWeSoMe-! You're the best (Y/N)! See you then!

She hung up and I put my phone to charge. This'll be a blast- I'm not one for that many people in one place, but I'll just stick to the side if I can. I'd rather not be scattered into the center of everything and everyone. But I'll go for the sake of Aph and her wanting me to have more friends. Yay-

While I wait for time to pass today, I ordered groceries to be dropped by my house since I don't want to go outside and started unpacking actual food into my pantry and fridge. Now I can stop surviving off ramen and cereal till I go broke. And yet I still choose to eat ramen for lunch today- nice one.

Sorry for the lack of updates recently-! I went on vacation and schools starting back up for me again soon, so things might get a bit slow again. I'll do my best to keep up with updates, so I'll see you beautiful people in the next chapter 🤙🏻
