HELLO

The last leaf of autumn finally falls.
It has been many months since he first stepped on the magnificent city. Everyday he moved around the city, absorbing as much knowledge from the scholars as much as he can. His day starts as early as before the sun rise. Moving to meet his friends and sharing notes before he starts his morning class. He was learning fast. Speaking Arabic fluently to the locals. Reciting Arabic poems easily like as if he spoken the language all his life. After class he would reserve a few moments to relax before jumping to his next class. Everyday went on the same. Except for Fridays.
The reflected sun rays from the mirror shop glared his eyes. A bright gold ray of light. A particular shade that reminded him of someone.
Niall. Where are you?
Four months now. Harry has been counting the many months since he last seen the man. His mind wonders off to the blonde many times a day. Wondering about his health, well-being, everything about him. He left all of the sudden. Harry tried to shake his thoughts off the first few weeks after Niall left. Constantly hoping he would return to his home again, with that big bright smile that resembled so much like the mighty sun.
"Harry, are you going to law?" asked Noor, snapping Harry from his thoughts.
"Uh. Yeah."
"Come on we'll be late," said Noor, walking ahead.
Harry nodded.
For the past few months he's been really close to Noor. She lives in the house not far from Niall's home. Originally from Levant, both parents are scientists in the field of astrology. Since young Noor has been living with the scholars. Learning from the greats as much as she could. She was a beautiful young woman with a spunky personality. Harry would go with her to his classes. She knew all the secret shortcuts. During lunch, they would sit together and talk about everything under the sun.

Four and a half months. A long time he's been away. Niall breathed in the familiar air in his home. Everything looked the same. All his items tucked in in their rightful place. Not a speckle of dust in sight. His staff did good. He eyed the red velvet chairs that arranged facing the unused fireplace in the living room. His favorite place in the world. The many nights and days all curled up with a good book, reading, writing, thinking. His house was empty. The staff was carrying his stuff from his travels, the numerous trunks containing the research he did in the dessert. Niall ghosted a finger above the marble table from China. Impeccable. But his heart felt something was missing.
Niall expected to see a particular curly haired man. Wondering in his house. Looking lost and confused. Like a little puppy. Niall stretched his arms above him. The numerous hours sitting on the carriage made his back sore. He was about to plop on the chair when a figure appeared behind him.
