Finally it was new years Eve. Work has been so stressful, well not with Xavier though he finds ways to make it entertaining. But the whole time I can't help but feel guilty. I may not be together with Royce but I refused him just to fuck Xavier behind his back. He never actually said we were together so why do I feel like I'm really cheating on him?
"Gabby?" Aaron's voice rings into my ears and I sit up. I had zoned out as we were decorating his apartment for the New years eve party he was throwing. "Y-yes?" I ask tapping a balloon on the wall and blowing up another.
"You okay you haven't been yourself lately." Aaron asks. I don't look at him though, I wish I could keep lying to him but it hurts. I wish I could just tell him the truth but Royce says if anyone else finds out about him they'll be at risk too and I can't put Aaron and Tommy through that.
"I'm fine I haven't been feeling all that well that's all." I half lie to him. I have been feeling sick from stressing about work, Royce and Xavier and the whole council thing. They haven't sent anyone for us and its actually making me worried. What if they're waiting until we have our guard down and then come after us? What if they kill me before anything?
"Wanna lay down babe and I can finish up." Aaron asks coming next to me.
"Nope nah uh I'm on break sir." Tommy calls from the couch as he munches on doritos. I grin and Aaron groans. "How long will this last?" Aaron glares.
"Hm about another thirty five to forty five minutes." Tommy smiles brightly and Aaron huffs.
"Love youuu." Tommy squeaks. Aaron smiles and jumps on Tommy. He gives him endless kisses and listerally makes him get off his lazy ass. They are so cute...I wish my thing with Xavier wasn't just Lust..and I wish the thing between me and Royce was less confusing.
Soon there's a knock at the door. "Its probably Royce with the snacks I'll get it." I jog over to the door and too my surprise it was Xavier. My heart kinda stops. Really? Why would they invite him? Trust me I don't mind but he and Royce have some tension between them and I don't know what. Royce wouldn't answer my questions and left me hanging for weeks.
"Hey you." Xavier grins and walks in. "Wh-what're you doing here?" I ask closing the door. "Tommy invited me he said they needed more help around here since he was feeling sick." Xavier explains setting down a bag. I peek behind him only to see Aaron and Tommy making out and being all cuddly. Mhm he's sick alright.
Soon the door opens and of course it was Royce. Just great are they gonna swear at each other in French again?
"Hey Red I got the chips but I didn't know which one so, I bought all thr-what's he doing here?" Royce finally looks up at Xavier who gives him a small wave. Royce doesn't return it and heads to the kitchen. I wish he would just talk to me and tell me what was going on.
A few hours later more guests arrive and the party was started. There were work friends and family members Royce even managed to get his sisters to come. Of course Tommy was Fawning over Raymond and was practically begging Aaron for a baby.
"No." Aaron drinks his beer and Tommy begins to whine.
"Babe! Why not I'm great with kids!"
"You dropped my nephew on his head." Aaron blinks and I snort. Okay that's not funny but Tommy's expression was priceless. "Why don't you love meeee??" Tommy whines and Aaron pulls him into a hug. I stand and head into the kitchen with Mariah and Royce. Royce maybe older than her but right now they looked like twins. They were both giving Xavier nasty stares as they helped prepare dinner.
"So I see you guys are having fun?" I pour some juice into a red cup and Mariah begins chopping vegetables angrily. "Oh yeah lots of fun, Royce I thought I told you to chop off his dick and feed it to the d-," Royce covers her mouth before she could finish her sentence. She must know him like Royce....did they date?
"Maybe you should go see what Mirra's up to or try to make new friends." Royce begins pushing Mariah out into the livingroom.
I begin finishing the vegetables and Royce sighs. "What was that all about?" I smirk. "Nothing." Royce adds strawberries on top of the cake.
"Is that your new favorite word now? Nothing?" I roll my eyes and lean against the counter.
"Look I don't wanna argue with you right now Red."
"Well if you don't wanna argue then tell me what's going on? I hate being in the dark about everything."
"Well sometimes darkness is better then being blinded by light."
"By light you mean the truth?" I glare.
Royce slams his hand on the counter and I flinch some. Everyone is silent and Aaron squints from the couch. "Everything okay in there you two?" He asks.
"Yeah, I just need to talk to Royce...alone." I drag him to Tommy's office and lock the door. "You need to learn how to control your temper." I glare and plop on the couch. Royce rolls his eyes and leans against the wall. "Royce...I'm not trying to argue....just tell me what's wrong." I put a strand of hair behind my ear and Royce stands in front of me. I don't look up at him though. I was too mad. He always does this, like I'm not struggling with the lies myself.
"I care about you too much to tell you...I wish you could know I really do...when the time comes I will but we need to be in a safe place. Riley got us an apartment uptown we have to start packing." Royce explains and I don't look at him. "Fine whatever." I stand and walk back to the hallway only to come face to chest with Xavier. "What are you doing?" I ask looking up at him. He gives me his cute little grin and says, "I was looking for the bathroom."
Soon his eyes look past me and he sees Royce. Squinting Xavier smiles more. "The count down is about to start might wanna join everyone." He says walking into the bathroom. I roll my eyes and walk into the living room I look back and see Royce and Xavier exchanging words I couldn't hear them but the expression on Royce's face made me worry even more.
"Here we go guys! 10!" Tommy cheers. I perk up for the sake of my friends and join in the countdown.
Soon we all get to one and we cheer, blow horns, clap, and hug. Everyone is silent however when Aaron gets on one knee. Tommy's eyes widen and I could see tears.
I smile widely as Aaron begins, "Thomas Rivera...you are the craziest funniest most demanding man I have ever met. I don't mind your laziness, or that you're stubborn. I love you and how adorable you are and that you're not afraid to be you. You make me strive to be a better person and you've made me the happiest man in the universe. Will you make me even happier and marry me?" Aaron blushes and Tommy shifts his weight while tapping his chin. "Welllll," Tommy jokes. Aaron smirks as Tommy nods. There were cheers and claps as Aaron slides the beautiful engagement ring onto Tommy's finger and they kiss. I honestly felt jealous, I wish I could find a man like that...I look back at Royce who was in the corner. He was smiling a little and I sigh. Maybe if I ever become serious with him.
I then look at Xavier who was also grinning at Aaron and Tommy. Maybe I like the danger and mystery behind him, but if Royce is so determined to keep me away from him...should I reconsider?
