Hera's POV:
It was midday when I received a comm message from Ezra. "Where have you been Ezra, we've been worried sick!" I said angrily down the comm. "Good afternoon to you aswell Hera!" He replied with a very awkward laugh. "Oh, well I thought it was funny... Anyway, why haven't I been at base you must be wondering, I was looking for Sabine and I found her! We are on the way back to base, and I found something I know you'll love!" He said, his voice full of excitement. "I can't wait to see you both soon! I'll go spread the good news. Stay safe." I said happily, but I was more than happy, I was full of joy, I was as hyper as a 6 year old when they had first tried a sugary space waffle! At last, I had them back!
I ran through the base to find Kanan, Zeb and Chopper. I found them sitting on a few empty crates watching the sun hit its highest point in the ever blue sky of Atollon. I ran up to them, took a breath and told them, "Ezra has found Sabine and is coming back with her!" Zeb's green eyes widened, Kanan gave a happy smile and Chopper let out a disappointed whine. (He was joking ofcourse) "What are you complaining about Chopper?" Zeb said sarcastically "Oh right! You won't be having Sabine's room! Hehe" Everyone laughed for a few seconds before Kanan suggested something rather ingenious really. ( I totally didn't Steal Agent Kallus' line...)
"We should setup a welcome home party!" "Oh yeah yeah! I can do the banner with Sabine's spare paint canisters!" Zeb shouted "Yeah! And I can make the cake!" I said whilst jumping up and down. "Be boop bee booop!" Chopper suggested. "Okay Chop, you can get fireworks!" "And I can help get... stuff!" We stared at Kanan for a while until he said "Guys, are you still here? I can't see you know!" I giggled a bit. "Yes darling we are here."
And so it was planned and now it need to be put into action! "Let's get a move on then!" I said and we all ran off in different directions to do... stuff!
Zeb's POV:
I ran into the Phantom, grabbed Sabine's paint canisters which were laying on the floor and began to spray the words 'Welcome Home' on a long and thin wooden plank which I found in the command center. After an hour or so I was finished! I tied the plank onto two tall sticks and planted them into the sand for everyone to see! The letters were a bit wonky but it was readable, just about...
Kanan's POV:
Food, they would probably like food and other stuff... I thought to myself. I walked into the supply area and grabbed a few bottles of blue milk and a few bags of popcorn and walked outside and put them on top of a table, walked into the freighter and meditated until Ezra and Sabine returned.
Hera's POV:
I went to the supply area to get some ingredients for the cake! I saw Kanan taking some food and I waved, I remembered he couldn't see me and I blew him a kiss. He walked out and I saw AP-5, "Hello there Captain Syndulla, do you need any assistance?" He asked, being as helpful as ever. "Yes please AP-5, I'm looking for cake ingredients for the welcome home party." I replied happily. "Oh, I wasn't informed of this party..." He said sadly "Can I come?" "Sure! Now let's get these ingredients and get cooking!"
We wondered around the once messy, now organised supply area and got everything we needed. I walked outside with a trolley full of items and I shouted "Thanks AP-5 see you later this evening!" back to him. I got aboard the freighter with the trolley and went into the small kitchen and began to bake the cake!
An hour later it was ready, my masterpiece! I took it out of the oven, placed it on a heat proof mat and began to put the icing over the top to form the Phoenix Squadron logo with the added words, Welcome Home.
Ezra's POV:
We were nearly back at Chopper Base, nearly reunited with our family and friends. Travelling through hyperspace had never felt slower. An alarm went off to sound that we were coming out of hyper space! "Sabine, get up! We're coming out of hyperspace!" I shouted down the ship. I heard a faint "Ugh okay." I pulled us out of hyperspace and zoomed towards Atollon. Sabine walked into the cockpit and sat next to me. "You look like you're getting better Ezra." She said. "Thanks, you look good too. Er- I mean better, you look better!" I tried to say casually, but failed miserably. I rubbed my hand on the back of my head and put it on the seat, I didn't realise Sabine had her hand there too! "Oops! Sorry, my bad." She took my hand, giggled a bit and pulled me into a kiss. I was shocked at first, but then I just went with it. Her arms were wrapped around my neck and mine were just kinda flying everywhere. She pulled away. I blushed madly. "I told you that we would talk about it later." She said with a cheeky smile. "Oh yeah! I forgot that we had that conversation..." I replied whilst still looking at her. "Hey Ezra! Eyes on the road!" A small rock hit us and more began to follow. "Sorry!" I weaved in and out of gaps and within no time we had evaded the debris and had landed.
We left the Ghost and immediately I noticed a banner saying *Welcome Home* on it and the smell of popcorn and loud music and out of nowhere a firework exploding in the sky. Hera came running over, fast then I'd ever seen her run before! "Hey Hera how are yo-" I was stopped when she ran into me and Sabine and hugged us extremely tight. "Okay Hera we've missed you too, but please let us go before we die of suffocation!" Sabine squeezed out with her last breath. "Oh sorry guys!" Hera said "But you continue to amaze me. You brought the Ghost back! How? Where was it? What happened to you both?" Her questions came on for what seemed like hours! Every time we answered one question, five more were asked! Eventually we all ate cake and talked about how awesome everyone was except for Chopper and AP-5 because they got bored of Hera's questions at the start. We talked about how Thrawn looked like a tall smurf although Zeb didn't know what a smurf was.
After hours of explaining what smurfs were, we all went to bed, in the Ghost. Home at last.
