Eric and Sophie landed on the quidditch pitch with a crack. He stumbled a bit before he ran two meters and vomited.

“That usually happens the first time, are you alright?” He nodded, holding a hand to his throat.

“You could have warned me.”

“I know, but it was the perfect moment.” Eric scowled at her while he got to his feet, a little bit red in his cheeks. Sophie had to cover a smile and order herself to be serious.

“Come on, we need to talk.”

“I figured that out…” Wondering around the field Eric took her hand.

Despite the situation they were in, she did not pull away. After a while he said. “My aunt is a witch.” The words shocked her when he said the. “- That’s why I knew how to find you and what you were. You see she isn’t much older than me, just by a year. We were best friends before she went to Hogwarts and she confided in me. Her parents weren’t of the understanding sort.” It became silent.

“You know Hogwarts is supposed to be protected from muggles right?”

“- and you know that apparating at the schools ground is not supposed to be possible.” He stopped for a minute and looked at her. Sophie didn’t have any answer. Sighing he continued. “I told her about you. What you could do and how I found it strange. She was the one helping me… to get here I mean.”

“How?” She must have looked at him pretty stupidly.

“Brooms.” Eric’s eyes lit up when he said the word.

 “You did what?” He shrugged.

“It wasn’t that hard really. I was a flyer you know, before I started as a base in Cheer. It’s just to find your balance and everything comes after that.” Sophie searched him without words. “You flew on a broom… for me?”

“I told you I’ll find you.” With that he kissed her cheek and took her hand. Dragging her with him to explore the place.

“But we can’t-“ She began, intending to tell him that it would never work. It would never be allowed, but the feeling of being with Eric was so good. Couldn’t she just wait for a few hours. Then delete his memories and make him forget about her.

“Please?” She begged the headmaster. He, together with two other teachers; Snape and McGonagall, were in Dumbledore’s office. “Can’t he just stay? Just for a while? He already knows about magic, please, please, please? I beg you with every inch of my life? Please…” Snape spoke up. “I suppose headmaster, that it didn’t harm anyone if we let the boy stay… just for a while.”

“Yes, yes what he said!” Sophie squeaked and took a step towards Snape.

“You only say that because you still feel guilty.” Minerva said.

How dare you! I do not such thing.” Snape snarled in reply, but Sophie didn’t care about his motivation, she was only grateful for his support.

“Wait now, we must remain calm.” Dumbledore raised a hand and both Snape and McGonagall stopped glaring at each other. “Eric can stay, as long as I say it is alright. But only because I say so and it is just this exception.”

Sophie’s face broke into a smile. “Thank you so much headmaster.”

People glared at them when they held hands while walking down the halls. Eric had always been the popular type and never actually cared about what people thought. When she walked with him she felt… unstoppable. Their view was blocked by no other than Draco Malfoy. “Well, well! Look what the cat brought in!” He laughed, looking at them in disgust.

“Is there a problem.” Eric snarled.

“ Yes, you!”

“Draco don’t-“ She began.

“I really thought you were better than this Soph. Especially better than that.” She glared at him.

“Sophie, come on lets go.” Eric began.

“Yes that’s right. Go now pussy boy.” Eric’s lips quirked upwards into a grin by Draco’s comment.

“We don’t want to be infected by this creep.” Eric made a fake cough. “Oh no, it’s already started. Sophie save yourself, I think I might-“ He coughed again. “die of –“ Eric fell down to the ground and was reaching a dying hand up to her. “this stupid attempt to offend me! Oh no the light!” Sophie couldn’t help but laugh and Malfoy got scarlet red.

“You’ll pay muggle!”Draco snarled.

“Oh, don’t you have enough money for candy?” Eric mocked and flashed a grin.

“Just wait.” Malfoy threatened.

“I will.”

“Blood traitor!” Was his last words before he stalked of.

“Brat.” Eric mumbled.
