Like Never Before (A Joker Fan Fic)

Part 4 Harvey Dent's Fundraiser Party

Time warp to three weeks later:

 Dad-" Gwen argues. "Sweet Pea, every employee of Wayne Enterprises has to go to this fundraiser. And we have to take our families." Gwen's dad replies. "Fine, but do I have to wear a dress?". "Its a black tie ball, just wear jeans and a tee shirt!" Gwen's dad says sarcastically. Gwen laughs, "Well does it have to be like all long and flowy?". "No, just something a girl would wear to a ball.". "Well then!" Gwen runs up the stairs to her room. "Kat, help me find something girly to wear tonight!" she says closing the door. "Okay, well looking at your clothes you don't have anything! So lets look in my closet!" Kat says walking over to her closet. "Well, I have this old black dress.'' Kat holds up a short dress with a skater flared skirt. "Wow, that's actually really cute!' Gwen says taking the dress from Kat. "You have to wear it!' Kat says. "Now, lets find something for you!" Gwen says. "How about this?" Gwen says holding up a knee length, blue, strapless dress with jewels at the top. "Its the perfect dress!" Kat says jumping up and down.

Later that day, Gwen and Kat skated for a while. While Kat just slowly cruised down the street, Gwen was jumping off of benches. Gwen messed up and fell hard and hit her knees on the pavement. "Oww." she said getting up. "Are you okay?" Kat asks. "Dude, its a little scratch!" Gwen says looking down at her bloody knees. "Ya, I'm fine!" Gwen says getting back on her board. "Oh mom just texted me we gotta go." Kat says looking at her phone. "Okay.".

The girls get dressed and walk down the stairs. Gwen in her black dress, black high top converse, and bandaged knees and Kat in her blue dress and white heels. "Well don't you guys look pretty." their mom says. "Okay lets go. I don't wanna be late." Their dad says getting his keys.

They arrive at a big building. The whole front of it is glass reveling a huge chandelier and many people on the second floor. They pull into a big parking garage and park near the elevator. They take the elevator up to a wide hallway with marble floors and golden looking walls. They walk into the ball room and Harold and Helen (Kat and Gwen's Mom and Dad) are greeted by commissioner Gordon and Bruce Wayne. "Hey." Bruce says shaking hands with Harold. "And nice to meet you Helen." he says shaking her hand to. "Umm...could we talk to you for a second?" Gordon asks Harold. "Yes Commissioner.". "Please, call me Gordon." he says as they walk over to the side of the room. Helen talks to some of her friends. Gwen, Kat, and River are left with nothing to do. River sees one of his friends and walks over to him. "I wonder what they are talking about." Kat says looking at their dad talking to the two guys. "I don't know."

A few minutes later there are gunshots coming from the lobby. Everyone screams as guys in clown masks walk in with machine guns. Bruce Wayne runs out of the room. The men are followed by The Joker. "Wait...what...oh come on!" Gwen says. "Hello ladies and gentlemen! We will be tonight's entertainment! Marley says followed by insane laugher. He walks around asking people where Harvey Dent is. He turns his head towards Gwen and smiles. He walks over to her brushing dark green shaggy hair out of his face. "Well I haven't seen you in a while Gwen!" He hugs her. She hugs back tightly. "So, you seen Harvey?" he asks. "No, why do you want him?" Gwen asks. "Well I wanna kill someone important!" he says laughing insanely. "I really love your laugh! And that's totally something you would do." Gwen says laughing. Batman walks in and takes down some henchmen. "What are you doing Joker!?" he asks in a dark voice. Marley pulls away from Gwen and turns around. "Well am looking for Harvey Dent. Have, have you seen him?". "I'll never tell you!". "Really!?". Two henchmen start to fight Batman but he throws then off and lunges for Marley. He turns around and punches him. Batman staggers back a few steps but retorts and punches Marley making him fall him to the ground. Gwen runs up behind him and jumps on his back. Thinking she was one of Marley's henchmen, he threw her off. Gwen threw back slamming into a big glass mirror shattering it. She falls to the ground on her stomach with pieces of glasses sticking in her arms. She hits the ground with a thud then lays there limp. "Gwen!!!" Marley screams running to her and kneeling beside her. "Gwen are you okay?' he asks franticly pulling her into his arms. She opens her eyes, "Ya, I'm fine." she says getting up. As soon as she gets to her feet, she drops back to her knees  gripping her stomach. "Gwen!" Marley says. hugging her. "Lets get outa here!" he says picking her up and running out he large door.

"Can you stand?" Marley asks. "Ya, I think so but my ribs hurt." Gwen says coughing. He puts her down. "Oww..." Gwen coughs up some blood. "Gwen! I think you n-" she cuts him off, "I said I was fine.". They hear police sirens and run into the nearest alley. It started pouring rain making the cuts where there was glass sticking in Gwen sting and bleed. When the sirens got closer, they ran up a fire escape to the top of a tall apartment building. "I think we are fine now." Marley says panting. "Hey, come here for a sec?" Gwen asks. "Ya w-". she kisses him. He kisses her back and they stand there holding each other in the pouring rain. "Hey ya know, I love you so much Gwen". "I love you to." Gwen replied blushing. "Ugh, my makeup is running, lets go to my place." Marley does something on his phone and in minutes a semi truck pulls up beside the building. They climb back down the fire escape and jump into the open side of it. The same guys with clown masks from earlier are there. "Everything okay boss?" one of them asks. "Better than okay!" he replies. ''Wait, weren't you trying to kill Harvey Dent?" Gwen asks. "Yes, but I got my first kiss so bigger accomplishment!". "Wait did you say first?". "Ya...". "Who wouldn't wanna kiss you!?". "Everyone....". "Aww, baby.'' Gwen says hugging him around the waist. They pull up in front of the same warehouse from last time Gwen was there. They walk in the door and everyone gets up. "We we're worried about you!" Pam says. "Gwen! Your arms!" she says. "Oh ya, glass." she says. Pam pulls her into the kitchen to get her bandaged up. "So, did you kill him?" John asks. "No, didn't get to. But I got something better." Marley replies. "Oh! Ohh. So, what was the something better?" John asks. "Maybe a first kiss....". "Dude!" John gives Marley a fist bump.

Pam comes back with Gwen who has gauze wrapped around both her arms. Marley hugs her, "Aww baby.". Gwen pulls away, "Really? I told you I was fine.". "I don't like to see you in pain though.". "Aww, your sweet.". " I know!". "Haha. Nice"
