Damn. That Harper girl is really something. When her mom said that she had a cute daughter, I thought she meant like a three year old who has a lisp. But when I saw Harper, I think that she shouldn't have used cute, she should have used hot, or gorgeous. And that was just the first time I saw her.
"Jesse what's wrong?" Harper is asking me questions now. I don't think I appreciate that very much, but it's whatever. I think of a way to answer her question without saying too much. "Um, well, I, I guess I forgot to tell you something. I-" Harper cuts me off. What is her problem right now? "What did you not tell me? I mean besides your birthday, your last name, stuff like that?" She says this with a playful tone, but I'm not the best with detecting American sarcasm yet. "Harper, I had a very serious relationship before I came over here. We were dating for 5 years. She was my first crush, since I was 12. She liked me back, and surprisingly we lasted. We are still good friends, but I just didn't love her the way I used to. I'm just not ready for anything serious right now."
She starts to get up, and I don't stop her quite yet, but I do a few seconds later. "I said nothing serious. Kissing isn't too serious." I start to pull her in, and she kisses me back. We are where we started. She is only the second girl I have ever kissed, but it comes extremely naturally, almost like I've kissed her and felt her lips against mine before.
God, I really hope I get over my ex soon. "Well, Jesse, I think you just found a new... friend." All of these words spilling from her lips, her full, soft, lips, and I see a flirtatious smile arise. Could this be the start of something, well fun? I think so.
I hope she thinks so too.
