Dear guys,
If you like a girl, don't make her start start a conversation
Because then she worries she's being annoying.

Sincerely, All girls

3| First Words, First Impressions

Amongst the noise, Raj found himself completely awestruck, the words that escaped his professors lips never meeting his ears. He watched Payal as her eyes roamed around one end of the class to another, her fingers nervously fiddling with the strap of her shoulder bag.

"Would anyone like to volunteer to be Payal's class buddy for the rest of the year?" The proffessor asked as Payal flushed a deep pink.

All she hoped was someone would offer, but seeing many she judged no one would.

A gush of air hit the side of Jimmy's face. Turning his head to the person next to him, his eyes widened at the sight.

"Raj!" Jimmy whisper yelled. "You idiot! Do you even know what you're doing?!"

Only if Raj knew, she had caught him hypotised and he didn't realise when his arm swung up at the proffessors request. He wasn't in his sensed at all and Jimmy knew, he'd regret this move straight after.

"Great, Raj! Thank you for volunteering!" The proffessor announced gleafully.

Words had finally managed to reach his ears and Raj's face fell whilst the rest of the students changed their attention towards him.

Lines formed on Payal's forehead being wild with curiosity by now.
"Over there." The proffessor finally told her, seeing she was struggling to pin point who had spoken out to an agreement.

Raj quickly buried his face his book. He used half of it to cover the side in which Payal would be sitting knowing that if she knew he was in this class, she would sure be mad with the fact he didn't say anything earlier when she had asked. He felt the seat beside him filling in and he only shut his eyes in regret. What mess had he placed himself into?

The proffessor passed out law books. Payal took hers mechanically and wrote her name inside, still wrapped in thought.

"I'm Payal." She introduced hoping the one besides her would lift his head up so she could see the one she would spend the rest of the year with.

"R-Raj." He spoke out of nervousness, his body gathering together feeling the need to swallow himself, and that made it even more impossible for her to see his face.

"Oh. Filmy name but nice once."

Raj nodded his head slightly, his eyes searching the other side of the room trying to think of a a loophole and at the moment, he was getting no where.

Payal's eyebrows scrunched together I'm wonder at his behaviour. "Do you have a problem talking to me? I mean, you don't need to if you don't want to... But why aren't you talking? Actually you don't need to talk to me, I'm great with silent people. My brother you see." she explained.

"I'm not good with the talkative people." he blurted out, deeming it easy a way for her to stop talking to him except he only felt bad straight after.

"Okay then..." Payal said awkwardly at his rude answer. She turned to face the board before murmuring "What is it with the men in Mumbai? It's either they don't say a word or when they do its as sharp as scissors." With that she diverted her whole attention to her textbook.

"Why are you ignoring her?" Jimmy whispered followed by Raj questing him afraid she might hear.

"Shut up will you." Raj said roughly.
