Nickolace Smith held is face. Blood was gushing out of his nose. He looked up to see Alice. She look scared and wide-eyed. He wondered why. Nickolace next saw Jack as he charged at Alice. Nickolace tried to get up, but he was almost certain he broke something. After all his bones were pretty fragile as they were. All of the sudden two jocks knocked down Jack and a teacher was at Alice's side shaking the still shocked girl.

"Dude you all right that was some nasty blow to the face you got there."

Nick looked up to see Jason Cooper, the school drug head.

"Umm yea I'm fine," Nick replied.

"Well I don't know about that, but Principal Bach is right over here and he probably would want to talk to you."

Before Nick could respond Nurse Chan was at Nicks side with a bag of ice. As Nick was ushered to the nearby nurses office he started to feel the pain in his nose. The adrenaline was starting to wear off and a steady throb replaced it.

"Now you can not possibly imagine that I would allow you to talk to this boy right now! Can't it wait!" Nurse Chan's voice squealed.

"Well the boy seems fine now so if you may excuse me we need to talk to him."

Principal Bach walked into the nurse's office.

"Mr.Smith, it is my knowledge that we need to talk," the principal said as he closed the door, "May we start with what happened."

*************Flashback*************

Nickolace stumbled down the hall. He was still freaked out by the contents of Health class. Nickolace didn't think he had an eating disorder, but could he. It's not his fault he couldn't find food every night, but it's not like he was looking for it either. Is it possiable that he could have an eati.... Next thing Nick knows, he's on the floor.

His nose is bleeding to no end as Nick shoves his hands hard against his nose to stiffle the bleeding. Blood was gushing out of his nose. He looked up to see Alice.

**********End Flashback*********

"So that's all that happened? Mr. Carter just punched you out of nowhere," Principal Bach questioned with a concerned look upon his face.

"Yes Sir"

"Should of figured, that kid is crazy anyway," the principal mummbled.

Nick knew better than to reply.

"Well since you didn't throw a punch I guess you are free to go, of course with that nose you might want to go home."

As the principal fingered through Nick's files a mixed expression appeared on the older man's face.

"Well Mr. Smith it seems that we don't have a parent or guardian listed for you. In fact you are listed as emancipated."

"Uh yes Sir I am."

"Well then I guess you can escort yourself home."

"Um yes Sir, uh have a good day."

"You too."

Nick nearly ran out of the nurse's office straight to his locker to retrieve his belongings. The reality of the situation suddenly hit him. Jack Carter punched him. That does not happen. Before, when Nick had a perfect life, him and Jack were best friends. What does a perfect life even mean? It surely wasn't Nick's life. Not to long after Nick and Jack stopped talking Nick's dad left because of his mother. Nick's mother was a crack-head. The only reason she turned to drugs was because of what her older brother did to her and because he did the same thing to Nick.

As Nick walked out of the school the first thing he saw was Jack. He had a massive bump on his head and his bloody hand was handcuffed to the other. Though before the officer ducked Jack's head into the cop car their eyes met. All Jack's rage was gone, he turned into that same scared little boy Nick used to know. But for some odd reason Nick was not forgiving him.
