Slam! The door to the small one bedroom apartment shut. The petite brunette hung up her jacket on the rack by the door. Swiftly after kicking off her heels and trudging to the bathroom. She moved to the shower turning on the hot water being sure to avoid the mirror, she didn't know if she could handle seeing herself as she was now. She stripped of her clothes and stepped into the steamy shower. Mulling over the thoughts that plagued her mind over the day, well more like the thoughts she had everyday.
Ever since the war ended her life had seemed to go more downhill with every move she made. So she tried to make as little movement as possible. After the war she sought out her parents in Australia to try and repair their memories. But when this proved to be hopeless she gave up letting them live the peaceful life they had adopted without the worry of their daughter plaguing them.

This wasn't her breaking point. Oh no, Hermione Jean Granger was stronger than that. She didn't even break when she found the guy she loved in bed with another woman. He claimed it was because she was too distant. That she wasn't the woman he fell in love with anymore, she had become detached.

She didn't even break when her best friends had their wedding without her. They felt eloping would be better, but of course they couldn't fail to invite Ronald and his new girlfriend. They claimed it would be easier on her if she didn't have to see them together.
What broke her was worse than that. However you could also argue that all of those things caused her destruction. The feeling of being unwanted, unnoticed and unloved made her cautious to trust them ever again.

Those were the thoughts, the feelings that swarmed her mind every second of every day. Acknowledging that it makes perfect sense why she threw her magical life away to live in the muggle world. There at least she didn't have anyone to let her down. She found a job as a secretary for a minor business. It was just a desk job. But it was enough for her. She moved away from her old friends and forgot their existence. At least she tried to.

Finally after her shower she stepped out of the bathroom in a towel and made her way to her bedroom. There she started picking out clothes when she heard a small tap on the window. The sudden sound made her jump. She looked to the window and saw that it was an owl.

"Strange", she thought "I never get owls anymore". Nevertheless she opened the window and took the letter from the owls leg. Sorry that she didn't have anything to offer the owl she pat it's head and it flew back out of the window.

The seal on the back was from the ministry of magic. "What do they want", she growled to herself. She tore the seal open, took out the letter and began to read.

Dear Hermione Granger,
It has come to our attention that your parents have not been able to regain their memory. For that we send our condolences. We here at the ministry are so very sorry for your loss. However it has been decided to inform you that you were adopted by the Grangers and your birth parents are the Zabinis. Have a lovely day!
Sincerely,
Ella with the department of child management

Hermione read the letter and then re-read it at least five times to make sure she was seeing right.
"The Zabinis? As in Blaise Zabini?" She questioned aloud. That couldn't be possible. She couldn't believe that. Blaise Zabini was a pureblood, a death eater. Well she didn't know if he was one for certain, but he was friends with Draco Malfoy. Being friends with someone like Malfoy had to mean that he was an evil person too right?

No matter what she thought about Blaise's character or friend choice. She felt like she had to reach out to him. Maybe he never knew he had a sister. Maybe he didn't know when he was making fun of her for all those years that she was his blood. No matter the case she still sat down at her desk to write a quick letter to Blaise. When she was finished with her letter she folded it up and left it on the desk to resume getting dressed.

After she was fully dressed she made her way back to the coatrack to grab her jacket and walked out of the door to Diagonally to rent an owl to send her letter. As she walked down the street she wondered about what this new discovery might bring her. People to love her to make her feel wanted she wondered. As quickly as that thought had come she pushed it out of her head. Certain that it wouldn't be like that. Nothing good ever happened to her. She had no doubt about that.
