Narrator's POV.
The sun was shining, not a single cloud in the sky. It was in the middle of June, but this was a specail day because today's the day that Erik marries Maddy. Maddy got out of the hospital 2 weeks early before the wedding.
Standing before the priest, & then the bride made her appearance in the church. Even though her face was veiled, Erik had no trouble recognizing his beautiful Maddy. She took his hand as they faced the priest, all of Maddy's family behind them, along with some friends young & old. Erik tried to force himself to listen to& comprehend the priest's words, but it was difficult, as Maddy's beauty kept distracting him.
Maddy & some other women had planted flowers in a circle, outlined the smoke-stained stones of the church.
Maddy seemed to have an obsession with flowers. All he had to do to make her happy was bring her an armful, or even a handful, of colorful blooms. Ah, but she was sweet when she was happy.
The priest was still talking about God's plan for man& woman, & Erik figured he had a few minutes before he would have to pay attention.
"Do you take this woman, Madelyn Elizabeth Harder, to be your wife? To have & to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poor, in sickness & in health, to love & to cherish, till death you do part?"
"I do."
He breathed in deeply, squeezing Maddy's hand.
She had her turn, listening to the words of the priest,& then saying. "I do."
"Then may I present Mr. & Mrs. Destler, you may kiss your bride."
Erik lifted Maddy's veil. She was beautiful, with a little extra glow about her, but he didn't take time to stare at her. He'd have the rest of his life to look at her. Instead, he kissed her, not holding back anything. Everybody cheered, & clapped for them both; now they are a married couple; husband & wife.
Erik scooped her up bridle style as he walked out of the church to a white car that had a sigh saying 'Just Married'. Erik put Maddy inside, then got inside with her, & closed the door as the car drove away from the church.

Erik opened the door to their bedroom on a private island in Brazil. Maddy stepped inside to see a huge king size bed with a white current around it, rose peddles on the bed shaped like a heart. The door clicked shut as Erik locked it behind her.
He wrapped his arms around her waist as his head rested on her shoulders. Maddy turned to face him & pressed her lips onto his. As Erik parted their lips, he leaned in close to Maddy's ear & whispered.
"Maybe you might wanna freshen up a bit first before the surprise." Erik whispered. He walked outside of the room leaving Maddy standing in the room alone with her face bright red.
Maddy's POV.
I walked into the bathroom to see a huge bath tub filled with steaming hot water. I removed all of my clothes, pulled my hair up in a bun, & stepped into the warm tub.
Resting my head on the end of the tub my thoughts ran like crazy; thinking on what Erik was gonna do to me now that we're a married couple?
A dirty image sparked in my head; my whole face went red as I covered my face with my hands, trying to erase that image. I sank in deeper into the tub, soaking my head.
