Chapter 17 - The Break

The door closed with a slam and Mira dropped her bag onto the floor. She locked her door and slowly creeped towards her bedroom. Silent tears fell as she took off her shoes. She laid down on her bed and her tears began to violently fall. Her chest heaved with every breath and she clutched her pillow with sadness. She had concealed her feelings the whole day at the guild. No one knew of her argument with Laxus and she intended to keep it that way. Before she could bawl out her eyes even more, there was a knock on the door.

*knock* *knock*

"Mira! Open up!" Erza's voice yelled. "I know you're not asleep!"

Mira's eyes widen and she quickly wiped her eyes and stumbled across the room to open the door. "*sniff* Y-Yeah?" Mira forced a smile on her face weakly. Erza's head was turned and as she whips around she is lost with words. "...Mira..." Erza says. "What happened?"

Mira's mouth parts a bit as she gasped for air and lets a tear roll down her face. "N-Nothing happened...I mean just a little accident...a little incident...a little fight....Oh Erza!" Mira flung her arms around Erza and started bawling once again. "Laxus...*sniff*...I got into...*sniff* a fight with him..." Mira cried.

Erza pushed Mira into her room and closed the door. She put her hands on Mira's shoulder and focused her eyes on her. "Tell me what happened." Erza clearly says.

As they both sat down on the bed, Mira began to tell her Erza what happened between her and Laxus.

"That bastard! How could he say all of those things to you?!" Erza yelled. "Oh I'm going to kill that son of a bitch!" Erza's hands curled into a fist as she stared at Mira concerningly.

Mira stared at the floor and whispered clearly, "Do you...think I should break up with Laxus?"

Erza was hesitant to speak at first but managed to give her best friend a word of advice. "If breaking up with him makes you happy, then you should do it. But it's up to you and your heart." Erza smiled and Mira hugged her back tightly.

"Oh right! I was going to tell you that it's almost March..." Erza grinned happily. Mira looked confused for a moment then came to a realization. "It's almost March!" Mira exclaimed and her face brightens up almost instantly.

The restaurant was a calm setting. There was a water fountain that was continuously trickling with water and a variety of potted plants sat around the room. The restaurant itself was quite elegant and most of the people were polite, save for the couple arguing at a table next to a large window.

"I can't believe you want to play at our wedding!" The Blunette whisper shrieks. "Gajeel, you suck at singing and playing the guitar..."

"Shrimp, I'm great and you know it."

"Oh don't get your panties in a twist."

"OOOOOH SHRIMP! YOU SAID PANTIES!" Gajeel giggled

"You are so immature..."

"Would you like any dessert tonight?" The waiter asked the couple.

"No thank you. But can you bring the check?"

"Of course...."

Once the waiter left, the two begin to bicker once again.

The raven haired ice mage sighs in relief as he walks home. He had just completed a mission and misses his friends as well as Juvia. Looking up at the cloudy night sky, he begins planning his next date with her. Walking up to his apartment building, he fumbles for his keys and unlocks the door. Going inside he then locks it and tosses his keys onto the table. Walking to his room, he slides off his jacket and rubs the knot in his neck.

"Did you miss Juvia Gray-Sama?" A sweet voice calls as he enters his room.

"Juvia? What are you doing here?"

"Oh Gray-Sama! Juvia couldn't wait any longer and came to your apartment to set up a surprise for you!"

"Juvia... I never gave you a set date of when I would be back... How long have you been waiting here?"

"Around four days and six hours..."

A sweatdrop formed on Gray's head but he cupped Juvia's cheeks and touched her forehead with his.

"This is so sweet. Thank you"

"Anything for Gray-Sama"

Gray then softly kissed her. The kiss was slow yet passionate. He took in every part of her, and reminded himself of her beauty. His lips traveled from her mouth to her neck and he began to leave love bites. She gave a soft moan and Gray growled in response. He then picked her up and set her on the bed. The two had not seen each other in two weeks and were craving each other.

"Gray-Sama...." Juvia mumbled in between kisses. He growled in response.

"I've missed you so much... Give it to me NOW"

The guild hall was as noisy as ever with chatter and magic being thrown around. Mirajane had just finished preparing a strawberry smoothie for the one and only, Erza Scarlet.

"Thanks Mira." Erza replied after she takes a sip of the smoothie. Just then. The guild door crashes open and a lightning slayer comes walking in. Some people didn't pay attention, but some watched him with wondering eyes. A specific girl especially turned away and tried very hard not to have him spot her. But all fails, and the lightning dragon slayer comes straight to the bar.

It's was like a security guard protecting a celebrity. Erza has stood up in between Laxus and Mira; her eyes burningly glared at him as she protected Mira with all her might. "What brings a bastard like you here?" Erza says clearly. By now, most of the people in the guild had turned their heads and were listening in on the conversation.

"Move out of the way Erza. I want to talk to Mira..." Laxus said through gritted teeth. "Privately."

Erza scoffed. "Yeah? Well you'll have to go through my dead body first." Laxus growled. "Really? Maybe I will-"

"Oh stop it!" Mira interrupted. "Both of you. And Laxus, there's nothing to talk about."

"Mira. I am so sor-"

"Save it..." She cut him off "I need time to myself right now."

Laxus looked at Mira with worried eyes yet she did not make eye contact with him. Laxus rubbed his tired eyes and sighed.

"Mirajane... I-" He started but Mirajane had already turned around to quickly leave the bar.

"You seem a little off... Are you okay?" Jellal put his hand on Erza's shoulder and waited for her reply. Erza stayed silent but slowly nodded her head.

"I'm alright... I just feel bad for Mirajane." Erza looked at Jellal. His hand cupped her cheek and he kissed her forehead.

"You are so kind. You know that?"

Erza smiled in response and took his hand in hers. She began to trace figures on his hand.

"Erza I love you so much..."

She looked up at him and give him a light, fluttery kiss on the lips. "Ehh" she smiled. Jellal gaped and pouted.

"I'm just kidding. I love you too"

The two smiled at each other and they began to cook dinner together.

Okay, we owe you guys a huge apology. We are so sorry for that long of a break and we are super sorry for the super short chapter. The contest will not be submitted until we are FOR SURE able to get off of this hiatus. We are still planning whether or not we want the other books or to just make this a longer book or to combine all 3 books into one. Once again we are super sorry and at least one of us will try to get in small chapters here and there. We were supposed to only have 20 chapters but since this one is so short we will probably have one or two more and of course more lemon/smut for all you lemon lovers!!!
