Chase and I have been married for a little over a year now, and our marriage and this Cup season could not be going any better.
"Chase Elliott will get a kiss from his wife," Jamie Little said after chase won Texas. "Chase, you and this team are on a so called hot streak right now, how are you feeling about all this?"
"We're feeling really confident," Chase answered. "We have four wins and we're not even half way through April yet, so yeah we're feeling really good."
"I know it's early, but you have to be thinking, what are your chances of maybe getting your first Cup championship this year?"
"Yeah, that's pretty far away, but we feel like we have a legitimate chance. We just have to take it one week at a time and keep doing what we're doing."
He did a few more interviews, then came back over to me and kissed me.
"You know, I'm really getting used to this victory lane thing," I said.
"Good," he replied. "Because I really feel this could be our year."
"I hope so. Especially after you came so close last year."
Chase was leading the race at Homestead, three-quarters of a lap away from his first championship, and then he blew a tire. Him and I were obviously upset, but then he came out and has been having a career season.
After pictures and more interviews Chase said to me, "I am so ready to go home and love you tonight."
"You are such a dork," I laughed.
"I know."
"The way you just admit it." He laughed with me and swept me off my feet.

Monday Morning
I woke up and walked into the kitchen to see Chase making breakfast.
"Good morning," I said as I hugged him from behind.
"Good morning, my beautiful, loving wife," he replied as he turned around and sat me on the counter. "You know I never get tired of calling you my wife."
"We've only been married for a year, it'd be bad if you were already tired of it.
"So I have kind of a random question."
He nodded, encouraging me to continue.
I finally asked, "When do you wanna have a baby?"
"A baby, huh? Isn't that up to you?"
"Well, yeah," I said as I placed my hands on his shoulders. "But we both have to be in the same place."
"Well, I'm ready when you are. I mean, are you ready now?"
"I feel like I am, but I don't for sure."
"You will. One morning you'll wake up, and you'll just know."
I believed him. And I believed we were both ready. I just had to convince myself.
