Castiel had just moved into the small, mountain, town of Grass Valley, he didn't know anyone, but he was glad he was finally on his own. He was finally out of the tight choke hold his family held on him. Away from the abuse of his absent father and older brothers. He knows they loved him, they just had a terrible way of showing it, a terrible, physical, broken way of showing their love for the dark haired, blue eyed boy. His memories of them were fading, since they kicked him out.

He pulled up to a house, 35674 Brooks road, he looked down at the paper with the address. He sat in his car for a minute taking in the beautiful scenery. It was an old house, the white paint was peeling off and the mailbox was dented, but something about it was beautiful. Maybe it was all the trees, or maybe it was the fact that he could here rushing water nearby. Maybe it was the house itself, it was old, but beautiful. There was a black car in the front, it was an older model, Castiel wasn't too good with cars, but he knew it was a Chevy. He turned off the car and stepped out into the cold January air. He assumed it had stormed recently due to the rainbow in the sky and the fallen tree branches around the old house. He walked up the stairs to the door and knocked, he was nervous, he really needed to find a place and this was the third house he's already checked out.

He heard the door unlock and it opened quickly. It was a young man, maybe 23, with dirty blond hair and green eyes. He looked tired and his, tight AC/DC t-shirt showed every intricate detail of his toned body.

"Hello," his voice sounded like he had just woken up.

"S-sorry", Castiel stuttered, "I-I didn't wake you did I?" Castiel was lost in his sleepy Green eyes.

"Yeah you did" the man's voice was sharp, "Can I help you?"

"I-I'm here because there was an ad for a roommate.."

"What?", the man was obviously confused. Castiel handed him the paper. "Damn it Sammy", he mumbled, "I'm sorry my little brother seems to think I need help keeping up with the place. Um look this might be awkward, but this really is a mistake."

"Oh.. I see", you could hear the disappointment in Castiel's voice, and you could see it in his eyes. "Well I'm sorry to have bothered you." Castiel walked down the steps and to his car, it was getting late and he didn't have time to go check out another house. He started the car, but all he got was the stutter of a dead engine. "Well this is just fucking fantastic", He said checking his phone and found it was dead. "Fuck my life", He hit his head on his steering wheel and took a deep breath. He got back out of the car and went back up the steps and knocked on the door once again.

The door opened quickly. "What what what?", he was obviously irritated that he had to answer the door once again.

"My car is dead" Cas said with his head down and his hands in his pockets, "I would call for a tow truck, but my phone is also dead"

"Okay, what do you want me to do about it?", the man sarcastically said, rubbing his eyes.

Castiel brought his eyes up slowly, giving himself time to be mesmerized by the mans muscles. "Well can I come in?" He crossed his arms around his chest as the cold air blew.

The man opened the door wider and turned back into the house. "Doors kinda old so you gotta slam it so the wind doesn't blow it back open, and just to be safe lock the chain lock." The man sat on the tan colored couch and leaned back. "So uh, you got a name, or you just want me to call you blue eyes?"

Castiel's heart beated a little faster, "I'm Castiel Novak"

The man stuck out his hand and forced a half smile, "I'm Dean Winchester"

Castiel shook his hand and nodded, there was an awkward silence as Castiel looked around the room.

"So uh is there anyone you can call to pick you up, or do you need me to take you somewhere?"

"I don't know anyone here yet, and I don't have anywhere to go, that's kinda why I came here."

"Did you just move here or something?"

"Yeah, actually yesterday, I stayed at a hotel last night and I've been looking around all day trying to find someplace."

"Sorry about that by the way, I didn't put up that ad, it must have been my little brother, he's always worried about me, he doesn't think I can handle the house by myself."

"Well I don't mean to pry, but, Can you," Castiel said sitting down on the chair across from Dean.

"Well" Dean looked around the dirty house peered into the kitchen, then pointed at Castiel and raised his eyebrows, "shut up".

Dean stood up and walked down the hall. Castiel just sat there in silence he heard a door shut and water start to run. Then, the sound of music started to flood the empty house, Castiel liked the music, it was AC/DC. Castiel pinched in between his eyes and closed them. He let the sound of music take his headache away. For some reason music had that effect on him.
