"Are you okay, Amber?" Neville asked.

"What? Oh, I'm fine," I said."Someone just took my potion again is all." Must be a Halloween prank,I thought bitterly.

"Oh."

"Now, don't forget that nice wrist movement we've been practising!" Professor Flitwick said. Today in Charms we were learning how to make things float. "Swish and flick, remember, swish and flick. And saying the magic words properly is very important, too - never forget Wizard Baruffito, who said 's' instead of 'f' and found himself on the floor with a buffalo on his chest."

I let Neville go first. By his disappointed sounds, he wan't getting the feather to rise.

"Why don't you try now?" he asked.

"Alright," I said.

I took my wind and did the spell at the exact same time as Hermione.

"Wingardium Leviosa!" our voices chimed.

I felt a tug on my wand. Curious, I pointed it upwards.

"Oh, well done!" Professor Flitwick applauded. "Everyone see here, Miss Granger and Miss Miller have done it!"

I was so surprised that I'd gotten the spell right that the connection between my wand and the feather broke.

When class ended, Professor Flitwick gave me a bottle of electric blue potion.

"You brother Sage gave it to me," he said.

"Oh, thank you, sir!" I said. I quickly drank a bit of the potion and then looked down at him. "Really, this means so much."

I quickly left and followed Harry and Ron out of the classroom.

"It's no wonder no one can stand her," Ron said to us. I immediately knew he was talking about Hermione since they'd been partnered together. "she's a nightmare, honestly."

Then Hermione ran past. I saw tears flowing down her face

"I think she heard you," Harry said.

"So?" Ron said. "She must've noticed she's got no friends."

"Ron!" I said. "Don't be so rude! Look at what you've done to poor Hermione! Can't you at least be a bit nicer to her?"

Ron looked away uncomfortably.

Hermione wasn't seen for the rest of the day. Harry, Ron, and I overheard Parvati telling Lavender that Hermione was crying in the girls' bathroom and wanted to be left alone.

"Good going, Ron," I said sourly.

"Where are you going?" he asked as I walked away.

"To comfort Hermione," I said.

"Didn't you hear that she wants to be left alone?" he said.

"So?" I snapped, giving him a glare.

I turned my back on the two boys and walked to the girls' bathroom where I did infact find Hermione.

"Hermione?" I said.

"Go away," she said. I sat down next to her and hugged her.

"Ron didn't mean it," I said. "He was just upset that he didn't get the spell right. Boys are idiots. Don't let them get to you."

Hermione kept crying.

"Look, I know a bit of how it feels. I used to get teased all the time by magical and muggle kids because I was blind. You've got it easy, really. It's just Ron, whereas I've gotten probably over fifteen kids teasing me and making fun of me at this school. There are a lot more outside of school as well."
