*This Disclaimer applies to all chapters of this story because I am a crazy ADD writer and will never remember to put this on all of them. I own nothing that you recognize. Not Percy Jackson, not Mangos, not ANYTHING! I am just a teenager using my imagination and borrowing other people's things.*

It all started on a sunny day in Camp Half Blood. I was in the arena sparring with Annabeth, and letting her win. I am the best swordsman in camp, but everyone knows that and in a real battle it doesn't matter how many people know beforehand. So I always give Annabeth a challenge, but make it possible for her to beat me.
"Ha! I won again! Percy, I know you say you are letting me win, but I think you are just getting rusty, old man."
"Oh please I could take you down in five seconds flat."
I leaned in to kiss her and judo flipped her.
"Percy! You learned that from me."
"And I thank you, but now you are an old nut cracker and it is time for the student to be the teacher."
"Mango Face."
I laughed and helped her get up, only to Judo flip her again so that I could kiss her while she was down.

After a few more spars I gave her a kiss and headed off to the showers. I had invited Annabeth to a midnight picnic at the beach and she said she would go, on the condition that I smelled nice.
I smiled at the memory of her face. No specific memory, just her face. So beautiful. I sighed and made my way to the showers, maybe tonight I would finally ask her to marry me. I have been carrying the ring around for weeks.
After I showered I paced my cabin stressing over every little detail of the picnic I was going to have with Annabeth. What sort of food should I bring? What should I wear? What if I wear something formal and Annabeth wears something casual? What if Annabeth wears something formal and I wear something casual?

I finally decided to have the Aphrodite cabin help me. Besides, if someone else new about my plan then I would feel more compelled to go through with it.
I walked over to their cabin and knocked.
The door opened.
"Hello, Percy! How can we help you today? Have you come for advice on that awful hair?"
Drew had given up trying to flirt with me long ago when she had realized how deeply in love Annabeth and I were.
I self-consciously tugged at a bit of my hair.
"Um no. I came for help with Annabeth."
"Ahh perfect! I am a daughter of the Goddess of love after all! Did you two get in a fight? If it was about blue food then you are at fault and you should apologize."
"What? No, we didn't get in a fight. I need your help because I am going to ask her to marry me."
"Oh my gosh!!!"
The entire Aphrodite cabin had somehow lined up behind Drew and every one of them heard. They gasped and squealed like true Aphrodite kids.
Romance and love is just about the only thing they are good with, so I had no trouble getting them to help me. They were a little too excited about it. I was afraid the whole camp would find out and word would somehow get to Annabeth.
After hours of them crazily deciding what I would wear, telling me what to say, giving me advice on how to stand, arranging the bouquet of flowers they were going to make me hold, it finally came time to meet Annabeth at the beach. I told the Aphrodite kids to give me some privacy, but they were probably hiding in the bushes video taping the entire thing.

Holding the flowers in one hand and the picnic basket in the other, I made my way down to the shore.
I laid out the blanket and sat down on it, looking up at the stars.
A few anxious minutes later Annabeth came into view. She was making her way towards me, walking alongside the tide. She wasn't wearing anything fancy - this was an against the rules outing at midnight after all - but she looked as beautiful as ever. Maybe even more so. When she caught my eye she laughed and sat down on the blanket next to me.
"This is nice, Seaweed Brain."
I blushed and gave her the flowers I had been holding a little too tightly in my palm.
She took them and gave me a thank you kiss.
"So..." I said "would you like a sandwich?" I nervously pulled out my handmade Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches.
She charmingly laughed and accepted the food.
"Thank you, Percy. Did you make these yourself?"
"Y-yeah. Um I also have some blue Coke, do you want some?"
"Absolutely! Are you okay Percy?"
"What? Yeah, of course. Why would you ask that?"
"I don't know. You look sort of nervous."
I took a deep breath, this was the moment.
"Annabeth, there is something I need to tell you."
"Did you forget the blue soda?"
"No, it's right here Annabeth."
"I was joking Percy. What were you going to say?"
"Oh right. Um well, I love you, Annabeth Chase. I have known you for a while now and every day I think there is no possible way for me to love you more than I do then. But then I wake up the next day loving you more than I did the previous. Wise Girl, you are the best thing that ever happened to me."
She gave me a hug.
"I love you too, Percy."
I got down on one knee.
"What I am trying to say, Annabeth, is that I want to marry you. I know now that I will never stop loving you and I can't bear the thought of living a day without being with you. Will you marry me, Annabeth Chase?"
She gasped.
Oh my gods she is going to say no, I am such a stupid idiot. What was I think--
"Yes, Seaweed Brain, I will marry you. Everything you just said, I think that was the smartest thing you have ever said and I feel the same way."
I jumped up in relief and kissed her full on the mouth. She was a little surprised at first but then relaxed into my arms and kissed me back.
The Aphrodite girls couldn't control their emotions any longer and I heard squeals of happiness coming from the bushes.
I don't know how long we stayed like that but when I finally got ahold of my emotions I remembered to put the ring on her finger.

Everything was perfect. Too bad fate sucks.

I am sorry this is short, it is just a prologue and it is midnight and I am sitting in an odd, very uncomfortable position that makes it to where I can only type with one hand. I am to lazy to reposition myself. Tell me what you think of the story so far! :)
