the start of winter was always my favorite. The first snow of the year always scared me as a child. It wasn't the fact that every plant would be buried under sheets of ice or that this season was known to be the season of death.
As a child i would peek out the window to see small specks fall from the sky. my first thought would always terrify me.
the world is burning.
the snow falling gentle and swirling with the wind, always looked so deadly at first glance. it looked like ash. Soaking the world in a dark color, a large flame dispensing this over the living.
it was fucking terrifyingbut when she was around. Winter became beautiful.
When i was in the academy, I used to sit by the window alone, all by myself. Of course, there would be others who would talk to me but no one wanted to really be around me. But she changed that.I remember staring out the window and watching the white snow consume the streets and trees. The snow fall would be light and delicate, floating down without a care. I hadn't been paying attention but a new student arrived to the class and she arrived late. I noticed her legs first.
My glance moved from the window to the floor when the class grew loud, I saw her legs approach me. they were slim but she wasn't entirely thin. She still had body on her. I lifted my head and got a good look at her body. she was very petite but she had a very average body, a type of hour glass figure. Her breast weren't huge but they weren't small. Her face was flustered from embarrassment and anxiousness, having been the new student and arriving late but her nose was bright red from the cold temperature outside. Her eyes focused on the ground, but they looked so enchanting. Her hair was fairly short and brushed along her shoulders as she walked past me. She sat behind me, alone. I lowered my head when all eyes focused on her. Last thing i wanted was attention.
A few days passed of silence between the both of us until she asked if she could sit next to me. Her voice was soft and delicate, like morning snow. At first i didn't realize she was speaking to me, but she poked my back to gather my attention.
"Hey, is it alright if i sit with you? Im a bit confused on what's going and i was wondering if you could help me?"My voice was hushed. I couldn't let out any words so I simply nodded. She moved her things and sat close. I felt my cheeks grow warm. Her scent was sweet like vanilla and cherry. It felt so weird, her body being so close to mine. I stared at her tiny hands while they fidgeted with books and pencil. She turned her face to me and smiled.
I'm y/n! what's yours?"
I already knew her name. I could remember her full name from when she introduced herself to other girls in the class. I listened to her conversations with others, just to know a bit more. When i opened my mouth to speak, only a breath escape. It was as if my voice was frozen by her majestic presence. She tilted her head in confusion so i spoke.
"yoonbum." I said.
And she smiled at me.She immediately became my friend. At school, we would talk about her family and how she wanted to grow up as a famous artist. She loved to talk about her dreams, ambitions and imagination. She always had a story to tell whether true or false, i didn't care. I just loved to listen. She would always express herself in stories and each one was like a part of her. She opened herself up to me.
Around town, We walked everywhere despite the cold weather. we would visit small shops or cafes to warm up. Often times, she bought gifts for me and I would always wonder why. She loved to treat me
to sweets and take me out to restaurants. She thought I wasn't eating properly and wanted to take care of me.
She protected me from bullies or staring eyes. She would intervene in fights i got in. When kids in class mocked me, she wouldn't hesitate to yell at them even if it got her trouble.I could still remember her laugh, how she covered her face because she was shy about it. How her cheeks became pink with every silly thing. And how she would even giggle at her own jokes.
Her smile was pure gold, she smiled from cheek to cheek, emitting happiness and joy. She just wanted to give positivity to me.
