Samantha’s POV   “Alright, settle down” My teacher Mrs Hayes tried to hush the bubbling conversations of students that were chatting excitedly about our school trip to Australia.

There was a small number of students that were going on the trip which consisted of Me, my boyfriend Joel, my best friends Mindy and Jane, Joel’s mate Noah, two nerdy guys Liam and Josh, and the people I despised most in our school, Cindy and her posse of babbling idiots Chloe and Ella.

God I hated those girls and their slut ways, I just wanted to smack them across the head with a book or chair or something damaging of the like. Cindy wasn’t the typical slut though, most school sluts are popular but no one actually likes them, and they realise that but pretend that people do things for them because they’re in love with them not because they’re scarred of them. They sleep with all the popular guys and a few unpopular buys too (as long as they’re on the football or basketball team) and they rarely have boyfriends.

Cindy, however, isn’t popular at all. She thinks she is because she’s fucked the football team and that because she’s slept with popular guys that she is popular, but she isn’t. Cindy and her gang aren’t intimidating like your typical school bitches are, they like to think they are though which is really quite amusing. The thing that makes Cindy an unsuccessful bitch is that she takes everything to heart. If you get in her way she’ll act like she owns the place and tells you to move out of her way and you can just tell her to fuck off an she gets offended and leaves. You can walk all over Cindy and she can’t do anything about it, so you may be wondering why I hate her so much? Because I am a strong believer in loyalty and Cindy has a boyfriend. She has a boyfriend yet she continues to have sex with numerous boys. This is why I despise her.

“Oi! Sam!” Mindy elbowed me in the side to bring me back to the present and away from my evil thoughts about bashing Cindy and her moronic friends. “Your name’s being called, go up and get your host information” Mrs Hayes was looking at me expectedly when I turned my gaze to her. I rose from my seat and quickly made my way to the front of the room to collect the papers that my teacher was holding out. I grabbed them and thanked her before returning to my table.

I flipped through the pages of information about my host family until I found the one about the Girl I’d be staying with. Her name was Finn Gallager, she likes pizza, surfing and photography and she is 18. Well, I’m 17, I like pizza and I’m obsessed with my tumblr so maybe she could take some cool pics for me to post, she seems like a pretty cool chick!

Everyone else was busy looking through the papers and reading about their host families when Mrs Hayes spoke up.

“I know you’re all exited about going down under, but because this is for english your principal has insisted that you write with your host student once a week for the next month and a half before we arrive” Everyone groaned and a few complaints were heard.

“I knew there would be some kind of downside to this exchange” Jane sighed.

“That wasn’t an invite for you to start talking!” Mrs Hayes said, her strict side kicking in. "Now this has to be done the old fashioned way with paper and a pen, and to make sure that you’re actually doing this you will bring your letters in and they will be posted to their school. Your host students will be writing back to you and I encourage you to write back as soon as you receive your letter from them.”

Another collective groan was let out from everyone’s mouthes, the odd person grumbling about how ‘dumb’ or ‘gay’ this was. Personally, I loved writing, so this wasn’t much of a chore for me. It will be a tad awkward and I’ll most likely embarrass our nation in my letters but that’s ok (God bless America) I’m sure she won’t mind my craziness too much.

“You have the rest of the lesson to write your first letter and hand it in, I have paper and envelopes up the front for you to use so put up your hand if you need some.” Mrs Hayes spoke. I raised my hand along with most other people and eventually the teacher placed some paper on my desk.

I grabbed a pen from my bag, took off the lid and put the tip to paper.

Dear Finn…

Hey guys! This is my first story so please bare with me on any mistakes I most probably will make!

Please feel free to comment any criticism you have for it because I take everything as constructive :)

Don't forget to vote if you like it! Most chapters will be a bit longer than this but I didn't want to invest too much time into writing a long chapter if no one likes it :)

Thanks for reading :) xx
