Letter 1

Dear Finn  

I don’t really know what to write in these things so you’ll have to excuse my awkwardness  

Pretty shitty that we have to do this hey? Like who has the time?  

I guess I just wanted to thank you for letting me stay with you, I’m so exited to come to Sydney and it really means a lot to me that you’re offering me a place to stay and showing me around for 3 weeks! It’s gonna be awesome   I don’t know what else to say so I’m just gonna end this here,  

Thanks again!

I folded the paper and slid it into the envelope before copying down the address onto the front. It’s going to be a bit awkward for the first few letters but hopefully we’ll get to know each other a little before I fly over and meet her for the first time.  

I walked up to the front of the room and placed the letter on Mrs Hayes desk. “Thanks Sam, you can go now” she smiled at me before going back to grading the tests that were in her hands.  

“Ok thanks miss” I said happily before skipping back to my desk, picking my bag off the floor and walking over to Joel.  

“You almost done babe?” I asked, resting my arms on his shoulders and kissing his cheek.  

He sighed, putting his pen down. “This is such bullshit” he complained. “Why do I have to write to another guy for one and a half months? Thats just weird."  

“Yea it sucks, I know. I’m gonna go to the restroom then I’ll meet you at the car ok?” I said, standing up.   “Ok I’ll be out in 5” he picked his pen back up and continued on with his letter.   I waved goodbye to Jane, Mindy and Noah before going to the bathroom.

I kissed Joel on the cheek and got out of his car, running up the stairs and unlocking the door to my house. I grabbed a box of oreos, a pack of chips and a water bottle before skipping up the stairs to my room to catch up on a few episodes of The Secret Circle.   

I has half way through an episode when my phone vibrated. I picked it up and saw a FaceBook message from Mindy.   

Mindy: I’m bored, message me  

Me: Well hello to you too  

Mindy: Ugh I can’t believe they’re making us write letters to our host people for almost 2 fucking months, this sucks ass  

Me: Oh my god I know right! It's so awkward  

Mindy: I reckon… omg my host chick is 17, her name is Amy Wood and she like drawing manga and watching anime… FML  

Me: Hey don’t be mean! She’s letting you stay with her for 3 weeks try to be nice! She’s probably pretty cool, you never know  

Mindy: Ok mom… What’s your person like? I pray for you that she’s better than Amy  

Me: Her name is Finn Gallager, she’s 18 and she likes pizza, surfing and photography so she’s pretty cool, hopefully she can take some awesome pics for my tumblr ;)
