Chapter 5: Oh The Loneliness

ELANORA loved books. She loved the books that had nice summaries and a good plot that would hook you right into it, to a point where you couldn't stop until it ended. But one thing she hated were those main characters that just annoyed the life out of you.

She had a feeling that if she starred in a book, she would be that type of character.

It was bad enough to think it privately, hidden away in her room while her brothers played football in their massive yard. But to be standing in the great hall, one leg under the table, staring at her old friends with a confused look on her face, she realized this was worse.

"Why are you sitting over there?" Amelia had called quietly as all of them stared over at her, some with disgusted expressions, some with no expressions at all.

Elanora loved Amelia, she was innocent, at least as innocent you could be, being a Slytherin. She was shy, quiet, and one of the kindest people she had ever met. Elanora searched Amelia's soft green eyes for any signs of pity.

But there was nothing there, and through the red shade coloring her pale cheeks, Amelia casually flipped her thick brown hair over her shoulders as she slipped her short legs under the table. She was always the person who did what no one else wanted or even had the courage to.

Now Elanora was still uncomfortable, she had showed up late and was shaking slightly with the feel of her own face getting red. She still saw the withered hand pointing at her and Harry, them clinging to each other like their life depended on it. The paralyzing fear, rippling through her body, and all she could do was stare.

She only wanted to go to bed.

But she was hungry. Which is why she decided to scoot down with her old friends and act like everything was normal. She knew it wasn't, she knew that she totally screwed up with them, and she knew that they didn't like her. So why was she here?

Her friend, Lauren, pulled a folded piece of paper out of the back pocket of her pin neat robes and pushed it into the middle of the five of them. Her beautiful blue eyes sparkled with raw mischief as she smiled proudly. Elanora looked at her gorgeous dark red hair and began to feel guilty once more, maybe based off of how long, she realized, it had been since she had seen them. She picked up a chicken leg with shaking hands.

"I snatched it from my neighbors mail," she chuckled as she unfolded it, "my mom wouldn't let me fully see it, but I had found it around stores and I wanted to get my own copy."
