The light became more and more bright by the minute. My eyes yet still closed are burning because of the light. I hear my mother talking bad about humans again and how they forgot to feed her. I began to crawl across the floor but hit my head on something hard. I whimper loudly and hear my mother coming to the rescue. But it wasn't my mother, I feel cold and dry hands grab me and pick me up. It puts me on a warm surface, and I fall back to sleep.
The morning comes, and I'm able to see now. My eyes are open and I'm able to see the world. I begin crawl over to what my mother calls a window. I look and see a large bright ball in the sky which mother calls the sun. I sit on the ground but hear a loud banging noise slowly getting louder. Until I see a giant human. Then another, a small one, holding the man's hand. A woman walks in next. She bends down and scratches me behind the ear.
She says "What should we name the cute little puppy, Katie?"
I stare up at the woman intently. I heard that name before. But where?
"Rosie!" Screams the little girl named Katie.
I heard that word too. But I know where. Mother use to say look at the roses aren't they pretty. But I couldn't look at the roses not then. My eyes were closed.
Then the woman speaks again "Rosie it is then."
Katie starts to chant "Rosie Rosie!" Over and over again.
Then I realize that the humans had named me Rosie. What a good name, I really like it,I thought.
