I looked and looked everywhere for my mother. She was no where to be seen. I begin to walk into what the humans call the kitchen. I look up and see the woman crying and tears rolling down her cheeks like rain. I see the man's hand on the woman's back as the wet tears leak down her cheek. The little girl named Katie runs into the room almost stepping on me.
The woman starts to speak but she sobs more.
the man says "Rosie's mother is not here anymore."
I don't understand where did she go?Did they get rid of her? Mother?
" What do you mean daddy where is she?" Asks Katie.
"She is sick and passed away." Says what Katie calls Daddy.
What does passed away mean? I tilt my head side to side. I stare at the woman who had stopped crying.
The woman stands up, walks over to me and kneels down. She pets my soft black fur. Scratches behind my ears and leaves the room. The woman comes back with a leash and collar. She puts the turquoise collar on me and clips the leash on. She pulls me toward the door.
She opens the door and drags me out the door. I hear birds singing. The sun is glaring down on the green grass. The trees blowing in the wind. I hear a dog barking loudly across the street.
