Alec turns to face me,
"Are you ok?"
I nod, unable to speak. I'm still really shocked. He offers me a kind hand, it's only when I reach out to take it I notice I'm shaking. Alec looks at my hand too, he leans forward, grabs it and pulls me up into a tight hug.
"I'm sorry, I should've gotten here sooner."
He's kidding right?
"N-no, it's not like that, thankyou."
He nods and together, we begin to walk to class. I feel weird in the stomach again. I wish I knew why, then again I wish I knew a lot of things. My train of thought is interrupted when Maddie and her 'Gang' stand in front of us.
"Ewwww its Jasmine!"
One sneers
"Now, now girls,"
Maddie snickers, glaring me down. Alec steps closer to me and I get pushed behind him.
"We're not here to deal with the monster today, we're here for her partner. Remember?"
"Humph, Yeah. What's, like, with you!? Like, why work with, like, that monster?"
"You would have a lot more fun with us."
Maddie adds. Alec shakes his head while he continues to hold me back.
"I'm here with Jasmine, that's how it's going to stay too."
Maddie isn't very pleased with this,
"Why?"
"Because she's worth it. She deserves better then what you guys give her."
I'm worth it? What?
"Ugh! Whatever! Who needs you!"
Maddie storms off. Why? Why did he do that? He just pulled out his own life support!
Silently we walk to class. He sits next to me, and completely ignores the fact everyone's glaring at him with equal hatred to me.
"Why?"
I ask without looking at him,
"Why do you do this to yourself?"
He turns to look at me, I don't look back at him. I want an answer, he shouldn't be doing this to himself, he could be so popular, and his wasting himself on me.
"Because I want to. Because I can. Because I know how you feel and you deserve to be treated better."
I look at him, for some reason i'm crying a little bit.
"You're lying."
"Nope."
He smiles at me, he has such a sweet smile.
"I don't lie. Trust me when I say you're worth it."
I'm feeling so many emotions, part of me is so happy I could scream, the other part wants me to slap him across the face.
"Thankyou."
I say wiping the tears off my face,
"You're amazing."
