It was a cool spring evening; the sun was slowly sinking below the horizon signalling the end of a very long day. A young girl with light chestnut hair stood in front of an iron wraught gate, her pale blue eyes gazed upon the crest that rested above her. She had no idea why she was sent to live here when she could easily live with her parents. However, they had received a letter, requesting that she come and live with the Sakamaki family immediately. Her parents were curious, but didn't bother going against what the letter asked. Therefore, they sent her on her way to live with the Sakamaki's without question.
The girl pushed the gate open with all of her strength and pulled her suitcase behind her. She looked up at the gothic-looking mansion and swallowed uneasily. She walked up to the front door and she pulled the door knocker up and hit it against the door a couple of times. She waited, but she received no answer. She leaned against the wall and looked down at her feet. She sighed and stood; facing the door, she reached out for the knocker again. Her fingers barely touched it when the door slowly opened. She stepped back a little in shock; she closed her eyes and took a deep breath, grabbing her suitcase and pulled it inside the mansion.
The girl looked around at all of the chandeliers and her pale blue eyes seemed to shimmer in the light. She looked around the mansion, leaving her suitcase by the door. She heard the sweet sound of a piano being played and immediately went to investigate. Her light chestnut locks flowed behind her as she walked briskly, hoping to find the source of the music. The playing gradually became louder and louder until she reached a door that the music was coming from. She reached out for the door handle and slowly opened the door. When she walked inside, her eyes fell upon a boy with red hair that barely graced his shoulders and on top of his head sat a hat. From the looks of it, the hat was keeping strands of the boy's hair out of his face. She slowly took a step closer, that was when she noticed that his eyes were closed as his fingers glided across the piano keys with ease.
The girl couldn't help but feel entranced by the boy's music. She was being drawn under his spell that he seemed to cast on her. However, when she took a step closer, the music suddenly stopped. She froze when she noticed the boy had looked up at her. His green eyes bore into her own. The girl swallowed nervously, she couldn't look away from him.
It wasn't long before the boy smirked at her, "My, my. How rude of you to walk in here without permission~ I don't ever recall asking you to come in now do I~?"
The girl bowed in apology, "I-I'm so sorry... I didn't mean to walk in unannounced..." She turned to leave quickly. "You may continue..."
She barely took one step when the boy took her by the wrist and turned her around to make her face him. She tried to look away but the boy took her by the chin and kept his gaze locked with hers. He wasn't going to let this girl get away so easily.
The boy chuckled, "I was looking for some fun~" He leaned in close and his lips were close to her ear. "Will you entertain me~?"
The girl shuddered, feeling his cool breath on the curve of her slender neck. The boy smirked again and leaned in, he was about to take a sample of her ivory neck when an uncomfortable cough broke the endless silence. The boy pulled away and looked up to see a boy with black hair, ruby eyes, and glasses looking right at him and the girl. His arms were crossed over his chest in disapproving manner.
"Honestly, how many times have I told you to take your private activites to your own room?" The new boy questioned as he pushed up his glasses on the bridge of his nose.
"You are no fun~" The other boy commented as he pulled away from the girl and released his grip on her. "I was only toying with her~"
"You are such a nuisance. Why must you always try and seduce young women who happen to enter this mansion?" A cold voice hissed.
The girl looked over to where the voice came from. Her pale blue eyes met with a pair of red eyes that seemed to glare right at the boy and girl. The voice was from a boy with white hair. His hands were clenched into fists, pure irritation showing on his face.
"Are you getting into trouble again brother?" A new voice inquired.
The girl nearly jumped when a boy with short red hair appeared behind her, standing by the first boy she met. He had the same color eyes as the other boy, but his were more of a green tint than those of the boy she first met. She was starting to grow uncomfortable from how many boys were in the room. She could help but wonder how many more there were.
"Who is this...?" A boy with pale violet hair that had bags under his violet eyes asked curiously.
Suddenly, the girl flinched from a cool tongue running against her cheek, as if tasting her. Her eyes closed on instinct. She was growing more and more uneasy as the boys appeared. She wrapped her arms around herself, wishing all of this were a dream.
"Are you the one... who was asked to come and live with us?" A calm but mildly bored voice questioned.
The girl looked over at where the new voice came from, it was a boy with golden hair and sapphire blue eyes that had his earbuds in, but he could somehow still hear everyone around him. She looked away, gazing down at her feet.
"Y-Yes..." She replied slowly.
"Very well. Tell us your name." The boy with glasses ordered her.
"I'm Tsukiko Hana..." the girl replied.
All of the boys exchanged looks, as if sharing unheard conversations with one another. The boy with glasses faced Tsukiko again. She looked up and noticed that all of the boys were in front of her, all of them looking at her with curiosity.
"Allow us to introduce ourselves." The boy with glasses began.
The boy looked at the blond haired boy, "This is Shu, the eldest son. I am Reiji, the second son. The triplets: Ayato, Kanato and Laito; Ayato is the oldest, Kanato is the middle child, and Laito is the youngest. Finally, there is Subaru, the youngest of all of us." He explained as Tsukiko's gaze finally fell on Subaru.
Tsukiko looked at all of the boys again, they all were looking right at her. She couldn't make heads or tails of why her parents sent her here. She didn't know what to think or what to do. Maybe she was asked to come to get to know the family personally.
Ayato crossed his arms, "Is she really the sacrificial bride we've heard so much about?" he asked.
"It's highly unlikely." Shu answered.
Tsukiko's head snapped up suddenly, what did they mean by sacrificial bride? Was that why her parents sent her to the Sakamaki mansion, so she could get married to someone she barely even knows? Did she really have to marry one of these boys?
"W-Wait! There has to be some mistake! I mean... I've heard nothing about being someone's fiancee!!" Tsukiko exclaimed.
"Don't get too full of yourself." Reiji answered immediately. "You don't have to marry anyone."
Tsukiko started backing up slowly, "T-The sacrificial bride-"
"Is a girl that has come of age to be awakened, or rather, has been sent to become a blood sacrifice for our family." Ayato commented.
Shu noticed Tsukiko's shock, "You obviously didn't think that we were all human right?"
Tsukiko froze, "You all are..."
"Vampires. Yes." Subaru hissed.
Tsukiko's face paled drastically. She felt as if she would pass out at any minute from the shock she had just received. Not only did she meet the Sakamaki brothers on her first day at their mansion, she was going to be living with a house full of vampires and be a blood sacrifice for them.
Laito smirked at Tsukiko and placed a hand on the young teen's shoulder. "Well Tsuki-chan~ It looks like you have a decision to make here~"
"Huh...?" Tsukiko murmured.
"Which one of us... do you want to be a sacrifice for~?"
