(Y/N)'s POV:
"(Y/N)!! Wake up!!"
"Get your butt out of bed this instant!"
"Tidy your clothes away!"
"Vacuum the floor!"
"Stop being so lazy and get on with it!"
These remarks somehow found their way into my life every day.
My parents were very strict and demanding. If I took just one slight step in the wrong direction they were at me like wasps in the summer. They did love me (unconditionally) but they didn't express this in a way I would have liked.
I had enough.
Frustration, anger and fury rages through my blood. I felt sick of all this.
The window in my room is small, barely big enough for me to squeeze myself out of but I had no choice.
I had to escape.
Cautiously opening my window, I heard thumping approach me.
"(Y/N), why is your window open??" My father's voice boomed loudly like a broken radio.
Sweat drops appeared on my forehead. I was now faced with explaining my escape plan to my father. Either that or...
I could lie...
My father had always taught me that lying is wrong and that I should never lie under any circumstances. Since the time I was young I have barely ever let even the tiniest white lie slip out. I always tell the truth in fear of the types of punishment my parents will put in place for me.
I pull myself together. I have chosen to lie. "I opened the window because I'm boiling."
My father nodded. "I believe you." He whispered before walking out.
Phew!
That was so close!
I quickly reach for my chocolate bar which I have yet to eat and hurl my body out of the window.
My small feet scamper along the pavement faster than ever. My legs are about to give out but I don't care.
I keep running until I notice a mountain.
Mt Ebbot...
Legend has it that that each human that falls down there travel down a hole that leads to the underworld and they never find their way out.
I don't care.
I want to go to the underworld, or anywhere else that I can escape my parents.
My hands cling onto the rock as I push myself up and climb until I've reached the top.
"Here goes nothing..." I whisper to myself.
I count down from 5 before throwing myself into the hole.
Falling, falling slowly...
THUD!
