I woke up the next morning and got into the shower before Dan could since he takes ages. I got out and got dressed in skinny jeans, chocolate brown uggs, and a light rosy pink shirt. I straightened my hair and didn't put on any make up, I didn't need it. I grabbed my iPhone 5 and walked downstairs to the kitchen. It's was 6:55 and Niall is picking me up at 7, so I had time for some breakfast. I grabbed a granola bar and scarfed it down and I heard a car horn outside. I ran out to see Niall leaned up against his black range rover. He opened the door for me and I got in.
"Mornin'." He said, his Irish voice raspy and sleepy sounding.
"Good morning." I replied and he started his car and pulled out of my driveway.
The car ride to school was absolutely silent. I couldn't decide if it was comfortable or awkward. I went to turn on the radio and he stopped me.
"Don't." He snapped.
I realized that when we drove, Niall never took his eyes off the road. Never. He's always so concentrated. And when I tapped him or wanted his attention, he wouldn't dare take his eyes off of the road. He also never listened to the radio. Never. He was also very tense when driving, and never liked to talk until the car was stopped and we were at our destination. Also, his hands were always gripped tightly around the wheel. I was about to question him about this, but I decided not to since It might throw him over and he might get mad. We pulled into the school parking lot and he turned off his car. I got out of it and we parted ways.
"Bye Sidney." He said, side hugging me. Everybody around us stared in shock, and this big wave of pride and proud washed over me.
"Bye, Niall." I said, grinning widely.
I walked into the school and met Natalie at her locker.
"Hey, Nat!"
"Sidney! You rode to school with Niall?! Wow!"
"What? Is that bad?" I asked her slowly.
"No.. It's just.. He hasn't had a girl in his car in three years.. Ever since-" Liam came by and kissed her.
"Ever since what?!" I asked her, nervously.
"Never mind! It's nothing! Bye hon!" She said and walked off hand in hand with Liam.
I frowned in confusion and walked to Math. I sat in the back as usual, and Harry came and sat beside me.
"Hey Sid." He said, smiling.
"Hey Haz." I replied.
We pulled out our books and began working. Not really. I was working, and he was distracting me by making stupid, cheesy jokes that weren't even funny but made me laugh for some reason.
"What do you call a fake noodle?" He asked me in a whisper so Mr.Lyles wouldn't here.
"What?" I whispered back.
"An impasta!" He said and I laughed Silently but I was almost in tears.
"You're so stupid!" I said and when Mr.Lyles turned around to see who was talking, we went dead silent.
The bell rang and we stood up, grabbed our bags, and walked out of class.
"Hey, I'll meet you and the guys and Natalie on the court yard in five minutes." I said and he nodded and walked out the door.
I walked over to my locker and opened it, putting up my math book and notebook. I shut it and walked outside to our usual spot by the huge oak tree. Liam and Natalie sat by each other with their backs pressed against the tree, Zayn and Harry stood up beside the tree, Louis sat with his guitar with his back like Natalie's and Liam's, and Niall was sitting on the small brick wall that circled the tree. The Brick wall was like a garden, it was filled with fake grass and the oak tree was in the middle of it, it was a huge spot and we all sat on the wall, in the grass, or by the tree. I sat down by Niall.
"Hey." I said quietly and he looked over to me.
"Hey."
Louis began playing his guitar in a soft tune and while we all talked.
"Hey, Sidney. Um, I was wondering if you wanted me to take you home today." Niall asked.
"Oh, no it's okay. I can walk." I really wanted to go with him but I don't want to bother.
"Oh, c'mon. Please? We can hang out!" He said and I smiled.
"Okay. We can hang out at my place! My mom is gone and Dan has football practice so we'll be alone."
"Okay. Sounds great.. Let's go." He got off the wall and I frowned confused.
"But Niall, we've only done one periods.. We can't skip the rest of the day!" I said, crossing my arms.
"Sidney, live a little. It won't hurt you to skip. People are leaving right now to go get lunch. They'll think we're doing the same, no one will know." He smirked.
"No." I protested.
"Please..." He did puppy dog eyes and I gave in.
"Ugh. Fine." He grabbed my wrist and pulled me. We ran to his car and hopped in.
God, what have I gotten myself into?
