Loki's Daughter

Chapter 7

Bucky's POV.

I actually talked to Keylie.

Steve is dragging me to the hovercraft. It's just another boring meeting.

Aw man when she gave me those puppy eyes, I didn't know what to do. I looked to Steve for help. No help came though. I have dated before, back in my time, but none have ever talked to me like another person. They were always giggly and clingy. And none of them ever gave the the puppy eyes I got from Keylie.

I'm now sitting in this stupid meeting and they are talking about Keylie. I know I would hate to be talked about behind my back, so I make a mental note to tell her what went on. I only half listened until Stark's comment. I wanted to punch him for some reason.

I felt weird. I think I care about her.

Then Steve spoke up and said that he wasn't even sure if he could trust her. Then I spoke up, everyone just gaped at me as I spoke my piece. I never ever talk in these meetings. Nor do I talk much to any one except Steve.

Then we heard a loud creaking noise and then Keylie tumbled out of the vent. "You spoke too soon Barnes" Fury noted.

Loki's POV

"But please father, she's not even an adult yet, let her come home." I pleaded with my father.

"No, she needs to learn young."

"But, she'll grow out of it as she gets older."

"Loki, listen to yourself. She's your daughter. She will not grow out of it. You didn't. "

I stormed out without being dismissed and went to my room. I laid on my bed and some how fell asleep in the middle of my thoughts.

I had a dream as I slept. I relived me leaving Keylie on Midgard. I saw her terror and the look of betrayal on her face.

I woke up with my face wet from crying.

Oh gods, what have I done.

I remember when she was born. She was so small. She had my eyes and hair. But her mothers nose.

We had named her Keylie because I always told Hayden, her mom, that she held the key to my heart. No one else would ever have access. But to make her name Asgaurdian we added the "lie" to the end of it. Making it Keylie.

Hayden told me that she now shared the key to my heart with Keylie.

Hayden died 9 years later, from what we don't know. She died in her sleep. I was away on a trip at the time, so Keylie was the one who found her.

She cried for days after. She told me she would never love any one again. Not even me. When I asked why, she replied with "I loved mum and she died and now my heart is shattered into a gazillion pieces. And if that's what happens when you love someone and they leave or die, then I don't want it. I don't want to lose people I love, so I won't love. An my heart will never be broken again."

I almost cried.

"Darling, listen. You can't stop loving. It's impossible, no matter how bad you've been, I've never stopped loving you. And you know what you don't have to stop loving mum, even though she's gone. She will be watching over you from the heavens. I bet when we look out at the sky tonight we will see a new star, and it will be mum."

"But if I love you daddy and if you go away, then my heart will break all over again."

"How about I make you a promise. One that will never ever be broken?"

"Never ever?"

"Never ever" I replied

"Okay.."

"I promise I will never ever leave you."

"You have to cross your heart. Lilian said that you could break a promise if you don't cross your heart."

"Oh yeah? Is this the Lillian from school?"

"Yeah, now do it"

"Okay. cross my heart."

I made an x over my heart. And she smiled.

I wiped my face as my flashback finished. Keylie probably hates me now. What have I done.
