I sat down on the bus awaiting Alice's stop. As I waited I got the portrait ready to give to her. I smiled as I looked at it because in the portrait, she has her goofy smirk across her face and one eyebrow lifted up higher than the other just like the day we met in the Cafeteria.
As I was staring at the portrait I didn't even notice that we had arrived at Alice's stop or that she was standing in front of me, smirking at me. "I see you actually did draw it. Pretty good job too. Now stop smiling at it ya goof." Alice said with that same smirk on her face. I blushed and handed her the drawing. As she looked at it, every detail, every smudge, every bit of it, she smiled. She finally said "Do I make that face often? Cause that's really good." I nodded, still blushing. She laughed a little and put her arm around me and said "Well, crap. Oh well." I laughed and so did she.
Then I did the weirdest thing, I put my head on her shoulder and as Alice looked over at me, I quickly moved in and kissed her. It shocked both of us. Surprisingly, we just went with it. She kept her arm around me and I kept my head on her shoulder.
~~~
Callie finally fell asleep on Alice's shoulder. Alice did love her and she knew she loved her but, she couldn't help herself from thinking. Thinking those gruesome thoughts, murder, blood, death, all of it. All the while thinking this, she smiled and hummed Ring around the rosy, pockets full of posey, ashes, ashes, we all fall down. Over and over again.
