Harlequin was acting like a dog on steroids. He was breathing heavily, he was running, his smell was incredible. He was trying everything out, while still keeping a firm but gentle grip on Wynter to make sure she knew that he wanted her there with him.
"Did you see that?" Wynter sound concerned.
"What? See What?" Harlequin just got a flash of an image, looked like part of the forest but with a deer standing next to a tree. He was curious if she had just seen the same thing.
"That flash."
"Yes. We need to find that spot."
"Why!?" Wynter was getting buggy. She trusted Harley but she knew that sometimes he went overboard.
"Please Wynter, I feel alive doing this. It could be a quest or my life could be just starting, a new one. I just have this gut feeling." Harlequin was desperate to figure out what this all meant and what did it have to do with them.
"Fine, ONLY because I trust you." Wynter had finally gave up on fighting. She knew he would never let this go.
They walked for what felt like hours. Harlequin thought he heard something, keeping in mind that his senses are highly effective. He thought it was a crack or maybe a tree branch falling but from far away.
"Did you hear that? Something is coming our way." Wynter could hear it too. She didn't know that Harlequin was experiencing the same thing as she.
"Yes. I did. We need to keep going. Just a little farther."
"No, Harley. It is a wild goose chase. What are you looking for?"
"The deer. It's calling to me. Something there. It needs me." Harlequin was caring when it came to animals he was passionate helping creatures. This made no difference to Wynter.
"I am going home. I am hungry and tired. We still have chores to do at home." Wynter wanted him to come with her but she knew he wouldn't.
"I am going to keep looking. See ya at the house." Harlequin just kept walking as he spoke as if in a daze.
"Bye." She whispered.
