Thin lines on a canvas.

Small and straight.

Red paint.

A small brush with a pointed end.

Smooth across the board.

The brush is new,

It's sharp and thin.

Can brushes get blunt?

Over time, I suppose, it's freshness will fade.

It's sharpness will fade, too.

We'll have to get a new one then.

But our painting is forbidden.

Where we live, art is considered hateful.

Pathetic.

We paint, then hide our work.

We paint wherever and whenever we can,

Hiding from the guards.

We love to paint, though.

We love the self-expression.

Sure, it's not a 'work of art'

It's a little abstract.

But it's good.

Yeah, it's good.

It makes us feel free.

Each stroke releasing us.
