Chapter 9: Ha ha ha!

Jon watched the whole thing and couldn't help but open his mouth in shock.

Luckily no one was watching because Jon actually managed to fly away, alone. Sure he felt bad about it, but he felt he needed to at least try and find some help.

...

Bruce sat at the computer searching for his son and Jon as well, but to no avail he found nothing.

At this point Bruce couldn't think of anything. Then Alfred (who else loves Alfred?) came down to the Bat Cave.

"Master Bruce, I would advise you to watch the news. It's quite interesting" Bruce didn't hesitate, he did exactly as Alfred said and turned on the news.

"It seems the people of Gotham have been driven to stay in their homes after threats have been made and sent to the Gotham City Police Department" After that one sentence Bruce knew that he would have to come back to his search later as a gut feeling told him that Commissioner Gordon would need Batman.

...

Clark and the rest of the Justice League sat in the watchtower thinking that Bruce would come back but after an hour or two he hadn't come.

He decided that he wasn't going to wait any longer so he used the zeta tubes to transport himself into the Bat Cave.

Once he arrived there was no sign of Bruce or Batman but what he did see was a butler (and the best butler you could get!) cleaning part of the Cave.

"Alfred!" Clark greeted cheerfully.

This startled Alfred before he realised who it was. "Master Clark, when did you get here?"

"Just a second ago. Where is Bruce?" He asked.

"He out seeing Commissioner Gordon as Batman" Alfred replied. Clark didn't hesitate at all as he quickly headed out.

...

"Commissioner?" Batman said as he approached that one man.

"Batman! I'm so glad you came" he answered in a rush of panic.

"What's the situation?" Batman asked, obviously sounding serious.

"This note was found in the precinct" The Commissioner said as he handed the note over.

Dear Commissioner,

Would you do me a grand favour and pass this note on to dear o' Batman.

Hello Batsy! By now I would have thought you would have noticed about your missing partner. Yeah it was me. Ha ha ha!

This was one thing that caught him by surprise. He was too busy thinking about the impossible reasons for their disappearance and mourning over it that he didn't suspect his one true nemesis. He's supposed to be the worlds greatest detective...

And I also managed to get myself another one... Who I suspect Superman is searching for.

I'm also assuming that now that I have sent this one letter everyone in Gotham City is hiding out, but this one time I'm not going to harm them, I just want you to suffer!

You have 24 hours to find your little "birdie" or he will die, and I mustn't forget to tell you that every minute or hour it takes you to find him, he will be suffering too. I'm sure you don't want this bird to face the same fate as one of your ex-ones. Ha ha ha!
