The next morning, Maka could feel something has changed overnight. Not only about the beast that was holding her captive, but something about herself also seemed to change. She felt like happier now, safe.

"Awake already?" a painting suddenly said. It reminded her of her friend, Crona. Maka nodded, smiling. "Yeah. I couldn't really sleep", she admitted. She couldn't help but think about the rescue last night. "He was so strong and protective..."

"He really changed overnight, it seems", the painting suddenly spoke again. Maka nodded in agreement. " Yeah, he did. His appearance too..."

That morning, Maka finally had the courage to sit with the huge creature for breakfast. However, he didn't have any manners. He just ate like, well...a wild animal. Maka looked at the sight, shocked. The servants eyes widened and as the beast noticed, he tried to adjust his behavior to Maka. She eventually stood up and helped him to eat properly. She handed him a fork and carefully put it in his claws.

"Now, carefully pierce the food and bring it to your mouth", she kindly instructed. The beast tried to do what him was told. "Like this?" Maka giggled and nodded. "Yeah, just like that." With that, the creature finally mastered the fork and knife. The servants all looked proudly at their master.

"It's happening!" Patty whispered happily. "Yeah, but she has to love him back. This needs time, guys", Blair answered. All servants sighed, hoping they'd ever be free again.

Maka just finished reading Romeo and Juliet to the creature. He frowned a little. "The end bothers me. They died. That's so unsatisfying." Maka sighed. "Well, they did die in eachother's arms, making their love the most powerful...by making it immortal." Maka stared at the creature as she spoke those words.

"Do you want to read it again for me?" the beast suddenly asked. Maka started thinking and handed him the book. "I want you to read it this time", she said, smiling. The creature looked down, ashamed, scratching the back of his head. "Well um...I...kinda forgot how to read", he admitted shamefully. Maka giggled a little. "It's fine, I'll teach you", she said. And with that, the two practised reading the entire afternoon.
