I took advantage of the fact that the house was quiet so I could sit on the stairs to the entrance and watch the moon. The week at work was stressful but having taken the weekend to relax with friends was the best option.
Although I didn't understand some jokes from Max or tried to make Ian stop burping every second, it was worth it.
But I needed that alone time to think of a certain man who had been in my head for a long time.
The house we were staying in was out of town, I knew the boys needed a break more than I, and besides the wonderful view we had, the stay was lighter than anywhere else.
"Y/N?" I looked back and Joji was standing, wrapped in a blanket and smiling.
"H-Hi." I said as I tucked my hair behind my ear.
"Can i?" He pointed to the space beside me and I nodded frantically. He sat down but remained silent and I didn't know how to pull subject.
"So ..." he began, but stopped.
"So ..." I played with my own fingers.
"Are you cold? Take it." He placed a piece of the blanket over my shoulder, making me get closer to his body, and I didn't dare to refuse. I was even a little cold but now my body warmed with shame.
"Thanks." I thanked him quietly, unable to meet his eyes.
"That place is beautiful, isn't?" I tried to control myself as I felt his breath on my cheek but it was harder than I had imagined, we had never been so close.
"Very much." I sighed as I stared again at the stars, now it had got even better. "You know, I've never seen the sky as beautiful as today." There was no cloud, the weather was cold but pleasant, the moon shone brighter than ever, it was perfect.
"Neither do I, it's weird to see that much star."
"We don't pay attention in the city. The moon is beautiful." I commented and felt his eyes staring at my whole face.
"Yes, she looks beautiful." He said quietly and I felt something flutter in my stomach.
I took a deep breath and took the courage to face his face for the first time that night, after the jokes that Ian and Max had made about the two of us, I had become more timid than usual. And what could I talk about him? He was the most handsome man I'd ever seen in my life. Joji glowed every time he smiled and when his eyes closed, I wanted to squeeze his cheeks, that little chick close to my eye was the sweetest thing and what attracted me to it, to see everything so close was incomparable. And on the moonlight, he looked even more beautiful.
I don't know how long we stared at each other, I also didn't know if he noticed my heart beating too fast, but I wanted to stay there forever. Just the two of us.
Joji started to stare at my mouth and I could not help but stare at his, who was coming so slowly that I really thought it was a dream. A very good dream.
But as I felt his breath in my mouth and his lips practically touched mine, I realized it was not a dream, our lips met softly and for a moment it was just that. Until he placed one of his hands on my cheek and kissed me with desire, as I had wanted him to do it for a long time.
Leaving my shyness a little aside, I touched his shoulder lightly and his other hand went to my waist, pulling me closer as it left me breathless and legs trembling.
He pulled away slowly but leaned his forehead against mine, I couldn't hide my smile still with my eyes closed.
"I couldn't contain myself, sorry." He chuckled and I opened my eyes, seeing his eye-smile right in front of me.
"You can do this every time you see a star or the moon if you want." I caressed his shoulder and he stared at my eyes, serious.
"Good to know." He replied and came over to kiss me again.
"He confessed!!!" Max shouted inside the house and then I heard a noise of something falling.
I looked at Joji, who was now getting rosy on her cheeks and I smiled. Well, it seemed like the moonlight had gotten me lucky today.
