Chapter 1~ Silence

|Chloes POV|

You know that feeling you get after you hurted someone's feelings?

Yea, I did that.

The feeling was called 'Guilty'.

I had a bad past.

I bet you know that story, by now.

I'm a selective mutism.

I absolutely hate it; But I can't hurt anyone else's feelings.

I'm too afraid of what'll happen.

"Chloe, Come down stairs! It's breakfast." My mom, Christi, calls out.

I run downstairs in my pajamas and sat down next to my sister, Clara.

Clara and I we're close. We loved each other no matter what.

I got a plate of waffles and began eating.

"Chlobirdy, why don't you ever talk?" Clara asks.

I ignore her and continue eating.

She scowls and walks away.

I wish I can tell her I'm sorry, but if I go any further than that, I will be hurting someone's feelings again.

I frown and put my dish into the sink and run upstairs.

I hop into the shower, feeling the hot water run down my spine.

When I finished, I dried myself and straightened my hair.

I slipped on a lilac tank top, a white crop top, white skinny jeans and lilac converses.

I put a bit of lipgloss and grabbed my phone and started texting by best friend, Paige.

We were also known as twinnies since we look alike.

Chlobirdy: Hey twinnie! :D

Paigeymack: Hey hey! ^_~

Chlobirdy: Can you pick me up for school? Clara's mad at me :(

Paigeymack: Of course! Why is she mad?

Chlobirdy: Because.. I don't talk.. /:

Paigeymack: Oh. Anyways I'll be there in five!

Chlobirdy: Okie! See you! ;D

I put my phone in my pocket and and ran downstairs.

I grabbed my bag and the door bell rang.

When I opened it, Paige was standing there.

"Hey Chlo!"

I waved hi and hugged her.

"Bye Chloe! Have a nice day at school!" Mom says.

I hug her goodbye and closed the door.

Paige sat in the drivers seat and I sat in the passenger seat.

"I'm going to pick up Nick, also." Paige smiles as she stopped in Nicks driveway.

I had a crush on Nick, but I never told anyone.

Well.. I didn't tell anyone.. Because I don't talk.

Anyways, I always thought he was cute and sweet.

But he'd never fall for a girl like me.

I was staring off into space that I didn't realize Nick was here.

"Earth to Chloe! Chlooeee!" Nick waved his hand in front of me.

I shook my head and blushed madly.

"Guys, we're here!" Paige giggles as she parks her car.

I love school!

Said no one ever.

I opened the car door and walked into school with Paige and Nick.

We were the unseperable trio; If Nick wasn't in it, It would only leave to twinnies.

"Guys, I have to go to Writing class. I'll see you later." Paige waves bye and walked to class.

It was only me and Nick.

"Come on, It's time for math." Nick smiles as we walked down the halls to math class.

I sat in the back with Nick, while Mr.Burlington kept talking.

Vvvvrrrr.

My phone vibrated.

I checked it, and I got a text from a unknown number.

Unknown #: Watch out with that mouth of yours. You don't want a incident like what happened to you and Josh Hyland's dad..

Chloe: Who is this?

Unknown #: Wait and See

That's when I heard Mr.Burlington call my name.

"Chloe, Chloe! Pay attention, or you'll earn yourself detention." He scolds.

I hang my head low as in 'Sorry'.

Maddie Ziegler and Kendall Vertes, the popular girls, chuckled.

I scowled at them and turned away to the window.

It was sunny and bright.

I wonder how my life would be if it was like that; Bright and Happy instead of Dead and Dull.

RIINNGG

The bell rung for lunch.

I ran out of the door and ran to the cafeteria.

"Woah, Chloe, slow down!" I heard Nick and Paige call out.

I grab my green lunch tray and got my food with Paige and Nick.

As I sat down and waited for Paige and Nick, Maddie and Kendall came over.

"Aww, Look at the little baby sitting alone! She's such a freak; She can't talk!" Kendall giggles.

"I know right? Let's see if she'll say something to this." Maddie smirked and dumped her lunch on me.

I gasped and stood up.

I ran to the girls room and cleaned myself up.

The juice from the fruit cup put a stain on my shirt, but it was okay.

I walked over to Maddie and Kendall.

"That's such a good stain on you!" Kendall laughs.

"Thanks.." I mutter.

"See? Even she can't stand up for herself nor speak! Wow, such a baby!" They both laugh.

That's it.

I had enough.

"Oh Maddie and Kendall, I forgot to tell you, That I would be doing this." I say and squirted milk on their designer dress.

They both gasped.

"This is a new dress! You'll pay, Chloe Lukasiak!" Maddie growls and storms away with Kendall.

Paige and Nick weren't around, so they didn't hear me talking.

But all I could think was

What did I get myself into?
