An extra long chapter to make up for not uploading last week! I'm kind of stuck actually. I have a few more chapters after this one but I can't seem to get anymore out after that! But I'll push on, I promise!
Anyway, I'm not really a fan of the first part of this chapter. I'm not used to writing in a male's perspective but I had to include Sebastian's POV because that gets important in later chapters. Hopefully it gets a little smoother.
Hope you enjoy!

“Sebbie, I’m thirsty!” I cringe as the shrill voice of Heather—no wait, Hayley— reaches my ear. And Sebbie? Really?
“Then go get a drink.” I murmur without turning to look at her. “It’s an open bar.”
She pouts. Not that I’m looking at her, but with girls like her, you don’t have to look to know when they’re pouting.
“But I’m so comfy on the couch.”
In exasperation, I turn to glare at her but out of the corner of my eye I catch sight of someone heading to the bar.
Chloe.
She was looking absolutely fantastic in her green silk dress, it made her skin almost luminous, and her hazel eyes were almost green. She thought I didn’t remember her from high school. But I did. Every single agonizing detail.
Especially the way her skin felt under my hands. How soft her lips were when I kissed her. How she laughed at all my jokes. How she teased me till I tickled her and her stomach hurt. And then how she looked at me in disgust after our performance. How she ignored me every time I tried to talk to her.
At first, I didn’t understand why.
Then my friend Mark had told me he had seen Chloe running away in tears, right after our performance together. And I knew she heard me. I realized I didn’t deserve her. Even when I was trying to talk to her, I only made an effort if no one else was there. I wrote letters and put them in her locker. I waited for her after school at the corner so no one would see us together. I ignored her if anyone was there.
And by the time I realized what a jerk I had been, we had graduated from high school. I knocked on her door a few times, but always got sent away by her dad. And what would it have proven, anyway?
“Sebbie? Sebbie!”
Blinking I turn my attention back to Hayley. “What?”
“Get me a drink!”
It’s so tempting to tell her to get it herself. But she’ll just cause a scene and stomp off. And yes, I speak from experience.
“Fine.”
I get up and head to the bar, where Chloe is, looking as stunning as she did the night I realized she was special, 12 years ago. She doesn’t notice till I’m almost next to her. Those hazel eyes framed by thick dark lashes widen, and she glances back at her table, where Sierra & James are chatting away happily.
I grin at her.
“Oh please make it go away.” She lifts her eyes heavenward and mouths the plea. I feel my smile widen.
“And here I thought you were warming up to me.”
“Ugh.” She turns toward the bartender. “Any chance you could hurry it up on those drinks?”
“I don’t understand why you hate me so much.” I say to her, trying to sound believably bewildered. I have an Oscar, this shouldn’t be hard. Maybe if she brought it up, I could apologize to her. If she didn’t, then we could continue this charade. Either way, it was fine with me. For now. “Did I not answer your fan mail or something?”
