VALENTINE.

I was awaken by the strong over powering wind that came from outside. Flicking off the crust in the corner of my eyes and making a wide morning stretch. I slightly removed my dark red silk duvet off me and it revealed me in a flashing red strip tease outfit. I briskly pulled over the quilt in embarrassment. I ran my fingers through my sore scalp feeling as if oxygen has been taken out of me. Flashbacks swam across my head back and forth of what happened last night. 'AHAHA pathetic little girl' 'Bitch come?!?!' 'Get used to it' those phrases whizzed through my head like a merry-go-round especially the last one. I just couldn't hack it in...

"Valentine? Valentine? Can you hear me?!" A voice in the distance bellowed my name repeatedly but my brain didn't respond. Then nudged me continously, to get my attention. Which I snapped out of. "Uh? Y-yes Kevin?" I tried so hard not to flip on my words. Seeing it was Kevin my little brother.

"Valentine, you left me worried alone yesterday" He climbed onto my bed besides me.

"Oh sorry Kev I had to catch up on some stuff with Sabrina" I lied looking through my window. Sabrina is a really good friend of mine, she is always out there for me checking if I was safe and okay.

"Oh. Okay..." He replied, nodding his head slowly. My instincts told me he knew I lied... "Then why is your eyes blood shot red? Why is your hair in that state? Why do you smell cheap?" He threw so many questions at once, that my head spun not knowing how to ansnwer. "And... Why you got rolled up money like that?" He added. Now I became frozen like an ice berg, I felt guilty that I gulped and responded.

"Huh?... Vaentine answer me" His tone grew softer and a tear dew swept from his eyes, followed by another and another...

"Don't cry..." I cupped his head against my chest his emotions was so contagious. I caught it within a second that tears began to run from my eyes. "I got you Kevin..." I kissed his forehead. "Miss mom and dad..." He softly spoke through his tears. "We all do Kev... We all do" I sighed.

No mom no dad, both died in a terrible plane crash its been almost a two years, and life without them. Well you can already see... It was my mother and father's anniversary on the 20th September 2011 and they decided to spend it in Bahamas, to get away from the country for some time being. My mom and dad's relationship was amazing they ever so loved each other, always found away in some sort to over come the problems they would face. But unfortunately on their way back whilst on the plane the motor on the plane stopped working... And I guess you know what happened next. The plane lost control and exploded. Over 1,100 passengers died in that thousand included my parents. They did not deserve this death. But never contridict God he knows the reason he let it be this way...

"Valentine, what you thinking about?"  Kevin asked snuggling closer to me. "Life Kev, life..." I spoke. "Its a bitch right?" He shook his head hunging it low. "Aye non of that profanity language in my presence!" I playfully pushed him and he threw back a laughter. "You hungry?" I asked. He nodded with a slight grin. "Alright get out let me take a shower wnd freshen up" Now I know what had pasted on last night would effect me throughout the day…

"Rina I would be back going to run to the supermarket quickly there is nothing in this fridge" I scratched my forehead, fake smiling.

"Ah Drey" Sabrina giggled twirling her pinky finger in her mouth. She waved at me as she had the telephone in her hand. Talking to Drey, her boyfriend. I sheepishly waved back and waved at Kevin who was munching on a cereal bar, giving a timid smile.

"Hold on D; Valentine?" Sabrina called me back. "Yes?" I paused. "Are you alright" I quickly nodded, opening the big heavy scarlet door. "Hmm"

I kept thinking about Sabrina's 'hmm' she left me with, it was so predictable that she knew I lied about being 'alright'.
