So there is a trigger warning for this story: Religion, sexual abuse, homophobia, self-harm, depression and a few other things. It's a very 'real' book, ya get what I mean. Hence I'm really loving this book at the moment. It's about being born into a, very, religious family with her father being the pastor of their local church. Being born into a religious family where... she (Lauren) is gay. Her father obviously displays Christianity in a negative light (with his homophobia and all) and there are also a few comments on Christianity that Lauren shows Lauren's distaste for... some practices of Christianity. Despite this, there are still some positive themes to Christianity in this book. Also, the author is taking on certain topics that a lot of people may struggle so... I honestly super duper recommend this book if you're looking for a book that takes on 'real' topics. (Not that any other book doesn't)
