Autumn was quickly awoken by a pecking on the window. She quickly sat up from the couch that she called her bed looked out the window.
An owl flew in the window, carrying a letter addressed to Autumn. Filled with curiosity, she opened it.
Dear Autumn Grey,
As I recall from Ron, he told you about the Quidditch World Cup. Well, it takes place this upcoming Monday and Arthur, my husband, managed to get a few tickets through his connections at the Department of Magical Games and Sports.
We do hope you'll come, as we know how the situation at the orphanage is — Ron told us that you had to sneak out just to get to Hogwarts. If you do decide to come, we'd like it very much if you'd stay the rest of the summer at our house.
Please respond as soon as you can,
Yours sincerely,
Molly WeasleyAutumn grinned as she thought about getting away from the orphanage once more. She didn't truly have a place there anymore. The children she would once sing to bed and sing awake now wouldn't talk to her. Her old best friend now hated her guts — for some reason that Autumn didn't even know. Her guardian, Miss Clementine, would slap her with no warning, and Miss Clementine's boyfriend would do worse things than that.
He would push her against the wall and stare at her until Autumn wished she were dead. He would push her down the stairs just for laughs.
And biggest of all, they would yell at her. Miss Clementine started blaming everything that went wrong on Autumn.
The cookies burned? Autumn's fault. Your shoes got dirty? Autumn's fault. You feel sick? Autumn's fault.
Truthfully, Autumn wished for her parents to walk in the door and take her away, but that wasn't going to happen. They gave her up for a reason, right?
Another pecking distracted Autumn. She turned to see a small owl pecking at the window, hooing softly. She opened the window and pulled the letter from the owl.
Autumn, dad managed to get the tickets! It's Ireland versus Bulgaria, Monday night. Mum says you should get here Sunday. We leave early Monday morning.
-RON
P.S. Be careful if you have to sneak out again. While Autumn appreciated the side-note, she widened her eyes in realization. Today was Saturday. All Autumn had to do was get through today. Then Autumn was free.
Autumn turned to the two owls, holding her finger out.
"Wait right there."
She ran off to the closet that had her things in it. Autumn opened her trunk and grabbed a spare piece of parchment and a quill with ink. In a hurry, she wrote on the floor right beside the couch she sleeps on.
Dear Mrs. Weasley,
I thank you dearly for inviting me, and I am planning on watching the game. I don't know where your house is, so if you could meet me at the Leaky Cauldron Sunday at noon? That'd be great.
Many thanks,
AutumnAutumn folded the parchment, wrote Mrs. Weasley on the front, and gave it to Errol.
Then, Autumn grabbed more parchment and began writing.
Ron, thanks for the heads up. I'll see you Sunday. Thanks for inviting me.
-Autumn
P.S. Thanks for the tip. I'll try my best to avoid getting caught.Autumn folded the parchment, again, and wrote RON in bold letters then gave it to his new owl.
Once the birds left, Autumn threw herself back to the couch, smiling.
Two more days until she saw her friends again.

Hello again! I'm so happy this book has started! I have soooooo many ideas for this book and I'm ready to write them!
QOTC: Do you listen to music when you read or write? If so, what song?
AOTC: I listen to Mars by Sleeping At Last or Moon by Sleeping At Last when I write. I don't like listening to music when I read, but I will listen to the Gryffindor Common Room if I'm home alone. There's this great website, www.ambient-mixer.com, where you can listen to a collection of sounds and music from all different fandoms. And, it's not just fandoms: it's also rain, thunderstorms, etc. It's really great and I recommend it!
