"So- how do you feel?" Evan said, hands gripped to the steering wheel as Violent rolled down the window, intaking the fresh air of Philly. The cicadas sang as little particles of pollen floated around in the air. The sun rays rested on Violet's bare shoulders as she twiddled with her phone case on her lap

"Good" she responded, resting her head on the boarder of the window, crinkling her nose, resisting a sneeze as he sunglasses put a filter on the world.

Evan hummed to the blink-182 song that played off the CD Violet had brought, he shrugged his shoulders.

"Really? You don't feel nervous, like your heart pounding through your chest, your guts shaking back and forth like a gut wrenching, disgusting, nauseating-"

"Evan" she groaned, dragging the 'N' as he laughed, biting his lip as she pulled her knees close to her chest.

"Well- how do you feel?" Violet asked Evan, her hair blowing in different directions as she tried to tuck multiple strands of hair behind her ear

Evan gave a long and exaggerated groan as he threw back his head, Violet couldn't help but let out a laugh, she covered her mouth as she continued resting her head on the window

"What the hell does that mean? You aren't excited? Even a wee bit?" Violet asked with a pouty face as he looked over at her, smiling.

"Of course I am! I'm not nervous though, art is just a normal thing, it's just an everyday thing, you feel me?" He asked her, making a turn on the highway, causing Violet to lean more towards the left as the bags and luggage in the back seat slid around.

"Yeah, I guess- except we are hundreds of miles away from home and living by ourselves" she said, stretching her feet out onto his lap as he patted her legs.

He adjusted his SnapBack, which was black with little stars dotting around the neon green alien head, as he quickly fixed his hair.

She looked outside the window, passing all the little hole in the wall stores along the way. The brick was filled with graffiti as lines waited around the block for a Philly cheesesteaks. The town felt a little warmer, you can almost see the lines of heat emitting off the building. The streets were narrow and crowded, and Evan was breezing through them.

"We've only been in this area for about 10 minutes and I can already tell that I'm gonna like it here" he said, Violet smirked

"You better- you've got four fucking years here, and you better not leave me" Violet laughed, ruffling her hair as she checked her lipstick in the rear view mirror

"Wouldn't dream of it sweetheart" Evan said as Violet scoffed and rolled her eyes

"Hey- you should be thanking me, I got you here in the first place" she said, raising her voice over the cool wind blowing into the car, giving a slight chill to her body. The goosebumps raised on the surface of her skin.

Evan slowed the car down at the light as he gave a quick glance to Violet, she pulled her legs off his lap

"If you mean mentioning my name several times, along with me mentioning you several times then yeah- you can say you got me in"

She now made the music louder as she patted on the lap to the beat

"At least we're rooming together! You could've gotten a weird dude who collects corpses in their spare time, but hey- you got me" she said, as Evan started fake crying

"Yeah I know, you know what? I think I would've taken the necrophilia guy actually" Evan said in a monotone voice as Violet bit her tongue and kissed her teeth, looking at him
