Violet rocked back and forth on her chair, biting her top lip as she sighed, tugging at her hair. Dylan turned towards her as he adjusted his glasses. He tapped his pencil against his sketch pad as he rested his head on his hand while yawning.

"Stuck?" He asked as she glumly nodded

"Well- I know what I wanna do I'm just unsure, it's like all my ideas are all jumbled- I don't wanna screw up." She explained, yanking out an earbud.

"Hey, sometimes screw ups aren't that bad. If you're intimidated don't worry, there's nothing to be worried about. The teacher is a breeze" he said, putting the sketchbook aside.

"Easy for you to say- you're a senior" Violet stated, huffing as she spun on her chair, he just chuckled.

"Some how I'm in a higher level, Art III class when I'm not even an art major- I'm a theatre major" he said smirking as she leaned forward, resting her feet on the bars of the table.

"Seriously? So why take this class? People usually loathe art" she asked, he just cuddled the sleeves of his sweater

"I guess it's just easy? I don't particularly like it but I just do it to get by" Dylan said as she slowly nodded

"Oh I know classes like that- funny enough drama used to be one of those classes for me. I hated. Going on stage, it gives me the chills just thinking about it" Violet said while drawing doodles on her sketch pad, listening to Dylan talk as she drew little circles and lines. She watched the graphite break apart, creating dust on the paper.

"What? Acting is great, you get to be someone else for a bit, you know? Create a new character, be someone else. Be less weird and socially awkward" he said, making Violet smile.

"I can understand that- it makes me nervous, all those people in the audience scare me. With art- all I have to do is just create it, and ship it off, no social interaction at all. Not even a little bit" she said as he bobbed his head.

"You got me there" he said, turning around as they both continued sketching in silence, Violet put her earbud back in her ear as she absorbed the surrounding conversations.

"I think we should do a weeping willow tree, with large fabricated branches that hang down. But the tree should have a lot of decay and bugs eating at it, maybe some burls too" Cig said, biting on his pencil as his partner has his jaw dropped

"That's awesome! And the story behind it is that it makes an awful weeping noise after an old man was murdered there some time ago, and he lures his enemies there to feast on him and hunt prey with his willow branches." His partner said, which Violet has learned from attendance that his name was George.

They soon high fived as Violet smirked "That's a crazy badass idea, I don't mean to be nosy but that's really fucking cool" she said as they looked over

"Thanks! We appreciate it, do you have an idea yet?" George asked her as she shook her hand, symbolizing that she had somewhat of an idea

"I was thinking about like a vintage and corroded marionette doll, that's busting at the seams with vines and succulents with dirt. It's just a thought though, plants are- a specialty so I really wanna incorporate that." She explained, looking down at the page as they nodded

"That's pretty cool- I say keep it, you've got nothing to lose" Cig said as she nodded

A few hours passed by as the students started sculpting their cowls and face pieces for their models with clay as the day went on. It was fairly quiet, and definitely relaxing. Violet was in her natural art element, and she loved it. It was good getting back into the groove of things, besides packing, unpacking, contemplating decisions, it was nice to unwind.

Violet glared over at Evan who seemed to be still working on his concept as he tapped his pencil on his jaw. She wiped her hands on her apron as she approached him, towering over his seat.

"Hey short stack I'm gonna eat lunch, you can join if you want, we only have a half hour break" she said taking off her apron and putting it on the table.

She grabbed her small backpack as she started heading out, Evan sluggishly trailing behind her as she opened the door, out into the open air.

She walked slowly on the pathway, looking at the tree leaves and the tulips, along with the lilies and the birds.

"So- who were you talking to" Violet asked, Evan yanking on a tree branch and letting it bounce back as he scratched the back of his neck

"Don't kill me" he said as Violet rolled her eyes, turning around and walking backwards to look at him

"We just got here- there's nothing bad you can possibly say" she said, turning back around as she walked, looking at her boots

"Emily" he said quietly, almost a whisper as she halted

"Your ex girlfriend Emily? Or a new Emily, let it be the second one because I swear Evan- do not even go there with me, ever. Ever again- don't you mention that name to me" she said, stuttering as she bit her top lip.

"Ex" was all he said as she sat on the side walk, just taking a seat. If she stood any longer she might've reached over and strangled him, but she didn't.

"Preppy, soft ball playing, cheating, lying, ratchet haired scum ball Emily is invading my campus, I don't think so. You will not talk to her after what she did to you, and me. Do not" she said sternly, turning red as she looked at him.

He avoided her eye contact as he looked up at the sky, leaning on the bark of the tree

"You threw a shoe at her"

"She cheated on you, you hard headed asshole" Violet said

"I threw that show out of pure self defense" she said, crossing her arms as the damp grass created dew through the fabric of her clothes

"You threw a god damn shoe, I was gonna break up with her anyway- but I would've been lonely cause you were too busy with your boy toy" Violet shot off the ground

"What did you just say- cause you did not- Evan" Violet had tears brimming her eyes, Violet had a tough senior year in high school, it most certainly wasn't her proudest moments, and Evan bringing her past up wasn't something she wanted to hear.

"I didn't mean to-" Evan stuttered as Violet scoffed, fighting back her tears as she stepped back away from him.

"Don't you ever, ever talking about Casey like that ever again. You know how much he meant to me and you know that I loved him, and that stupid bitch of yours ruined my life. So don't you even go there with me Evan, this is not how I want to start off this year" she pointed at him as she poked at his chest

"Violet please it slipped- I'm sorry" he said as she started walking away, her eyes clearing up without letting a tear fall, walking as the breeze caught her hair, blowing it back and forth

"Just save it"
