When I walked outside I looked for my lip balm in my backpack. I shuffled around in there for solid 5 minuts just looking for my lip balm until I triumphantly pulled it out in one quick motion. I stood up and applied it. I stretched and smiled not many people showed up at the library so I had almost fallen asleep a few times and my shift felt like it would never end.Walking over to a bench I dropped my stuff onto the ground and waited. The time trickled by and I kept checking my watch every five minutes after 30 minutes I realized something. I had forgotten to tell max when I was getting off. I face palmed and cursed at my bad planning skills. I reached for my phone only to realize it wasn't there. I must have left it on my desk.
Grabbing my bag I jogged back to the library, my feet hitting the brick making the only sound in an eerie silence. As I got closer to the door I felt cautious. I slowed down to a walk to look around. The wind blew my fluffy hair, and the sound of chirping birds had Ceased.
I heard a growling sound and what I saw when I looked up was grotesque. It's long arms sticking out of its body were long and dripping with a strange black liquid. The leg split in the middle the feet twisted backwards. A blood red tongue slipped out of its mouth it was so huge I couldn't believe it didn't sag down to the floor. But it's eyes were the worst of all they each were as big as my head and pure white, and red goo flooded out of them making a large pile on the library entrance. My mouth was trembling and I was clenching my hands. I couldn't blink and so my eyes filled with tears making my vision blurry. The creature slowly bent one arm down and crawled off the wall. It's tongue flopping out like a dog. I would have laughed if it wasn't for the fact that it's head was as big as a small car and its mouth wasn't filled with razor sharp teeth. The skin on it looked as if someone had melted a black trash bag on to it.
I was breaking out into a sweat as it stalked towards me. I started to back away as slowly as humanly possible and as it kept advancing I slowly turned around. I walked a couple steps and it got closer. I closed my eyes and pretend this was all a dream and for a moment I believed it but then I felt something wet graze my back and that broke my control. I had tried hard not to freak out but I couldn't anymore and I broke into a run throwing my bag behind me. I looked at the front of the library my feet thumping were the only sound. I ran for what seemed like hours.
When I stoped I leaned against a wall my head spun from all the adrenaline. My Breath came out shallow as I stumbled forward trying to regain my sight as the world spun. I had only gotten few steps before I herd a rustle behind me. My blood ran cold and my eyes widened I didn't want to turn around but I forced myself to. When I did a screech rose up from deep within
I stood only inches from the monster. I couldn't muster any strength to run away again, as if that would do anything. My legs trembled And my heart beat so fast it felt as if it would tear out of my chest just to get away from this horrific scene.
I couldn't stand anymore and as my first tear drops I collapsed onto the ground my eyes finally giving in as a flood of tears came streaming down my face. This is how I was going to die next to a real estate building on a Dirty side walk. I raise my eyes to meet the monsters in front of me. It loped towards me approaching silently. I raised my face to the sky as I felt a rain drop hit me in the forehead. And as the sky opened up the monster opened its mouth I could feel it's hot breath on my neck. I shut my eyes hopping for a painless death. Me in that moment the one person I was thinking about was of max and how I wish we could have talked and laughed one more time.
