Odd Meetings

I'm sorry for not updating for so long! I've been really busy with school. I hope this chapter makes up for lost time!

Harry's POV:

Ron drools a lot.

Yup, that's the first thought I had when I woke up.

Currently, I'm at the Burrow, enjoying my summer vacation being spent with Ron, Hermione, Ginny, George, and sometimes Bill and Charlie. It's the middle of summer- hot, stuffy, and dry. The heat is practically unbearable.

Shaking Ron awake, I began to get dressed. Already wearing my glasses, I pull on a T-shirt and shorts, not bothering with socks. I glance behind me, only to see Ron still fast asleep. Chuckling fondly, I go to and put my mouth by this ear.

"RONALD WEASLY WAKE UP OR I'LL TELL HERMIONE THAT YOU'RE CHEATING ON HER!" I yelled in his ear, smirking at the after-effect. Ron had fallen off of his bed, looking at me worriedly. Realising that I was joking, he glared at me and pushed on my bed.

"That was low, man," he shook his head, but I could see a small smile on his face.

"I know. Now, let's get down before your mum comes and screams at us for still being asleep."

We are now sitting in the backyard, enjoying a nice, tall glass of lemonade and some cookies with the girls.

"Ah. This feels so much better than trying to kill Voldemort, you know what I mean?" Ginny smiled as she leaned on my shoulder.

"I couldn't agree with you more," Hermione grinned at her friend.

"So, anyone up for a game of Quidditch?" Ron jumped up, looking at us eagerly.

"Well, sure, why no-" I shrugged, before a giant ball of brown feathers flew on my face.

Oh I'm sorry, I meant owl.

"Stupid owl, can't even fly!" Ron grumbled. Hermione chuckled at her boyfriend attempting to wrestle a scroll from Errol's claws. "Got it!" he exclaimed after a couple of minutes. Ron opened the paper and looked at it in confusion.

"What?" I asked curiously. He wordlessly handed the scroll to me.

"Dear Mr. Weasley,

We, at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, ask for you to come back again to repeat your seventh year. Because of the attacks, you were not able to finish your study here. We ask that you come back to fully master magic. Please note that this is completely optional."

If you decide to come back, we have enclosed a list of materials in this letter. This year, we will be having some exchange students come over for one year, and we think that you and your friends would be perfect to show them around.

Remember, term starts on September 1.

Sincerely,

Minerva McGonagall

We all looked up in surprise. A chance to have one more year at Hogwarts? Of course! But there was one thing bugging me. We've never had exchange students. So why now?

"I've never heard of new students coming in Hogwarts," Hermione said, her forehead creased.

"Maybe they'll be friendly," Ginny suggested hopefully.

"Hopefully," I sighed.

"Well! I'm gonna show this to Mum. She's probably going to say yes but..." Ron broke the tension. He disappeared inside the house, Hermione following him. Ginny looked up at me softly.
